I got my card today and I've been reading through this stuff. I thought I would post some things since I know people had questions, and there doesn't seem to be anyway to get this info (that I know of) without getting the card. Most of this stuff will be quoted directly from what I got.
"Is there a limit to the Disney Dream Reward Dollars I can earn?
You can earn 1% in Disney Dream Reward Dollars [DDRD--I'm going to abbreviate from now on] on as much as $75,000 in net purchases on your Disney's Visa Card during each calendar year, ending with your Decemeber billing cycle. There is no cap on the number of bonus reward dollars you may earn when you take advantage of special bonus offers featured in your monthly billing statement or online." "Promotional offers may be made in a targeted manner to designated Cardmembers only and not to all Cardmembers."
"....[DDRD] can even be used in combination with special offers and discounts. For example, you can redeem 20 DDRD for a $20 item. You can also apply reward dollars toward purchases--you can redeem 20 DDRD toward a $50 item and pay the remainder with cash or credit card."
"How do I redeem my Disney Dream Reward Dollars?
Once you've earned 20 DDRD, visit www.BankOne.com/Disney or call Bank One Cardmember Services and tell us how many reward dollars you'd like to redeem. You'll receive a rewards card [Disney Store] or rewards certificate [WDW/Disney Cruise Line, or Disneyland] that you may redeem at a variety of locations listed in your enclosed DDRD Guide. Your DDRD are good for a full 5 years from the time they're earned, and there are no black-out dates." Reward Certificates for WDW Resort and Disney Cruise Line are available in denominations of 10 reward dollars; Disneyland in 10 reward dollars; and reward cards for the DisneyStore, DisneyStore.com and Disney catalog are available in denominations of 10 or 20 reward dollars. You have to tell them which of these three (WDW/Cruise, Disneyland, DisneyStore/Catalog) you want and for how much. "Your rewards card or certificate will typically arrive within two weeks of your order. You may request express shipping for a nominal fee."
"Reward dollars have no black-out dates and may be used for a full 5 years [60 billing cycles] from the time they are earned, unless your account is closed or not in good standing." "[DDRD] will be redeemed and expired on a first-in, first-out basis."
"You will not accrue DDRD on finance charges assessed on your account balances, balance transfers, cash advances, convenience checks, unauthorized charges, or fees on products which protect or insure the balances of your account, or fees of any kind. Negative DDRD will post on your periodic statement in any billing cycle in which the amount of Net Purchases is a negative number." [This seems obvious, but I thought I'd put it in here.]
There's a whole section on how they'll hold you DDRD if you make a late payment, until they get the payment. If you miss two consecutive payments, all DDRD accrued during those cycles are forfeit. And "Your Disney's Visa Card account will be closed by Bank One if there is no activity in the account for twenty-four consecutive billing cycles."
Basically DDRD will be posted to your account in the billing cycle following that in which they were accrued. In certain cases they may take several billing cycles to be posted.
Reward cards and certificates will have an expiration date on them. DDRD must be converted to one of these before they can be redeemed. The cards and certificates must be forfeited at time of redemption. Photocopies will not be accepted. They are subject to any further terms and conditions listed on the cards/certificates. You have to have 20 DDRD in your Program Account and you must redeem at least 20 every time you request a card/cert. In this part (small print) is says 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. It said 2 weeks earlier. I guess it's "typically" 2 weeks, but they're going to cover themselves.
They say that they can't be redeemed for cash or their equivalent. Does that mean no Disney Dollars. But I guess the cards/certs. are "just like" having Disney Dollars. "Any unused portion shall not be returned as cash." "You must present your reward card to redeem a portion of the DDRD on the rewards card towards designated merchandies. You must surrender your rewards card to redeem all the DDRD on the rewards card towards designated merchandise." Once you redeem DDRD for a card/cert you can't transfer them back to your Program Account.
"DDRD are available for personal purposes only and cannot be accrued or redeemd by business, commercail, or government transactions or accounts."
"Subject to the terms of this Program, at locations designated by Disney Rewards, LLC, you may apply the DDRD towards sales tax assessed upon the value of the merchandise for which you redeemed the DDRD."
The number for Bank One is 1-800-300-8575 for information regarding your account or to redeem DDRD.
I think that's all the "important" stuff I could pull out, once you get past the "blah, blah, blah."
Sorry this got so long, but I hope it helps!
