Sorry for those who don't like mush. :D DH and I have decided that we want to renew our vows when we go as a family to Florida later next year. We plan on having our kids stand up for us, etc.

Now, even though we both have decided to do this, I want to make it a little more special. So, the Monday after the marathon in January, when we are at WDW, I plan on "proposing" to him.

Now, I can't begin to tell you how much my DH means to me. both as my spouse and as my very best friend. We have been through so much together and, yet, we've remained standing side by side.

Anyway, what I am looking for is suggestions from you how to go about it (proposing, that is). Also, if anyone has appropriate quotes, poems, etc. I would love to hear them.

On the beach, at the Polynesian - with a bottle of Champagne(at night ofcourse).:D I can't imagine anything more romantic.:sunny:

Get yourself a pair of clear colored sandals....

go sit at Cinderella's Fountain behind he Castle....

Hand him one sandal...and tell him if it fits you.......he is indeed your Prince Charming....

and as he is on bended knee and done fitting it on you...

Propose to him....

I couldn't think of anything mushy. bump.

Day after a marathon? I can't think of a more emotional moment to propose than right after the marathon (at the finish line). :groom: :bride:

I would say something original and heart felt. The words you used here are very nice and I'm sure your DH would love to hear it.

You could say something like....
"You have made me feel as beautiful as Cinderella since the day we met. You are my Prince Charming. And a dream might be a wish your heart makes, but in all my fantasies I never imagined I'd meet someone as special as you. I can't begin to tell you how much you mean to me, as a husband, my lover and best friend."

I think I'd get some nice chocolate covered strawberries, a drink for a toast and propose in front of the castle.

Have fun!

Hmmm, I don't know, but since I'm going to be down there also for the 1/2, can I come watch and be the official tissue holder? It sounds wonderful! How about during Wishes? He made all your wishes come true..........

had I had anything in my mouth, it would now be plastered all over the monitor - ROFL!

sorry I haven't any suggestions (other than to say Pop Daddy's got a good idea there :p), don't really do "mush" ;), but best wishes! :)

This is what my best friend's husband did when he proposed to her and at the wedding she gave it back to him.

3 roses

yellow-for the friendship that he gives you
pink-for the adoration
red-for the love you feel always

You can always change the color of the flowers or the acutal flowers themselves and whatver you want them to mean but it was a very romantic when it was done.

Good luck and can't wait to hear how you do it

Tina

While the female in me fully agrees with Brer Papa, the practical person in me feels your DH may enjoy Pop Daddy's suggestion a bit more :)

How about a carriage ride at FW with some roses and champagne?

Or during Wishes. Maybe right at the end of wishes?

I think my DH would die if he thought someone was specifically watching us! :o ;)

I do like the idea of centering something around the fireworks show. Although, that would make Pop Daddy's idea a little difficult to use. :teeth:

Such Romantics on this board!! Going to have to post when I need some romantic stuff for my husband.

I like the Cinderella fountain idea....you make a wish & toss in a coin. Then ask him if he knows what your wish was....then you can propose to him.

Have to admit The "naked" idea almost made me spit my ice tea. LOL
