So we were still hanging on to hope for our April 2021 trip (moved from April 2020) where obviously we were gutted to move the holiday but the +25% offer from Tui meant we could rebook from AKL to WL (my mums bucket list hotel, so we were all happy for her).
Then earlier this week it was announced that WL won't be reopening until June!
We rang Tui and they basically said 'we have enough to deal with atm, call back in a month...'

👌 excellent.

With 5 holidays this year already cancelled, just losing the will to bother making any plans at all now.
The good news is I am currently the front runner in supporting local businesses, especially those that deliver pizza and burgers.

I know the feeling. I'm on holiday 5 cancelled too and its just so difficult as I feel like if we don't plan then we will kick ourselves if it goes ahead but actually planning is painful. I thought things were looking better but now I'm not sure again so I guess we just have to wait it out.

I know how you feel. Its difficult because you want to have something to look forward to, everyone does, but even when things are booked you really can't let yourself get excited. Its strange for me because I am totally a type A, colour coded itineraries planned to the hour kind of person and I just havent bothered at all for our supposed april trip. Will make it a very odd holiday if we do go!😂😂😂

I've had 3 cancelled, and two others that were planned but not booked have also gone up in smoke. Apologies to those who like staycations but they are not for me. I know we have some beautiful places in the UK and we've been to the Lake District, the south coast, North Yorkshire, Anglesey and the west coast of Scotland this year for between 2 and 6 nights each this year, but my personal choice is still overseas.

I'm not booking my planned Christmas trip until I get vaccinated, I'm expecting it to be around March, I'm quite high up the list in priority because of my age, but, it's a wait and see thing for the moment.

when i had to switch us from summer 2021 to summer 2022, i was a bit low for a few days. More than low. Kind of depressed.
we've been planning this WDW trip since 2017, the last time we went in "full family mode" as my son calls it.
But i started planning again - i can't book the rooms yet as we're DVC, but i've been looking at dates, calculating points, something to look forward to.

In the meantime, we had two nice staycations.
In the summer, we all went, in full family mode, to the golan for a 4 day hiking trip. We all had a really nice time despite the restrictions.
And two weeks ago, we all went for 4 days to Eilat on the Red Sea, where we swam with dolphins, went scuba diving and snorkeling in the coraf reef, went horse riding in the desert and ate to our hearts content. And considering the Eilat trip had been postponed 3 times due to lockdown, we felt very very appreciative that we had finally made it there. And given that we go into another lockdown today for who knows how long, we really were lucky to have had that holiday.
.

Update: tui cancelled our april 2021 holiday by email yesterday. Sorry to anyone else this happened to, but maybe we will all get back there soon 😊

I'm gradually slipping into the "Maybe 2022" camp. Managing my expectations basically.
They are talking about the UK having restrictions (tiers, masks, etc) until the autumn, and that seems to be on the basis of things happening as expected. So I am doubtful Disney will have eased things enough for my October 2021 trip to be a pleasure. Fingers crossed anyway.

Ditto with the maybe 2022 thought process. It's not just the virus threat, it's the closures and restrictions, if we are going to spend the money we want to really enjoy it. Yes there have already been hints online at a winter 2021 lockdown which is super fun to think about...
I hope that you either get your holiday or an alternative you're happy with 😊

Ive kinda scrapped the idea of 2022 now. Aiming for early 2023. I think i will wait until the vouchers run out for everyone as we got a partial refund instead. Just keep banking my amex points to put towards it.

You are a very naughty girl (I assume) spreading fake news :)

There are a number of possible punishments ... but I don't want to be banned :duck:
Well it wasn't on fb or anything it was I think bbc, but i dont want to be accused of escalating lol.

Per CNN, Trump is expected to lift coronavirus-related travel restrictions for Brazil and much of Europe starting January 26, a White House official says.

According to Reuters Biden is going to block that, and possibly go to further restrictions.
:confused3

We need to wait until after inauguration day before there will be any clarity about where the US is going for the next year or two.

Yeah I got all excited before bed then woke up and it had changed. We will make our decision on end of April/May at the start of March I think before our bank/borrow date and our DVC holding period or if Virgin let us change it again. Had to move them twice already.
