You have to check in each day before 10 am at the little hut by rainbow reef. Also, the umbrellas are there for the loungers on the deck prior to the time the Casabellas replaced them, and were never removed. They’re useless.

Yes. I guess they look better than if they weren’t there, which would leave a bunch of holes in the concrete, but they add zero extra shade, even if they were opened, which they aren’t.

You can let them know you are going to be a “late check in”. We called and did this because we wanted to have some reserved seats on the day our flight arrival. We got to the resort around 1pm.
FYI, Executive Lanai…. not enough sun cover later in the day…. and the Ocean View is blocked by the greenery that gives your privacy from the sidewalk. Nice fruit platter, though.

Ah…good to know! Re sun cover, that reminds me about the casabellas in Jan, where the sun is low enough to start shining inside the casabellas by around 3 pm, no matter where they are on property. Pro tip: If you want to hang out longer and extend the shade, we’ve found you can hang some towels over the front of the casabella and affix them by those plastic clips you can get on Amazon.
Are you still there? If so, hope you’re having a great time!

Yeah, some of the clamshells at other resorts we’ve stayed at have modular shade shells that can be adjusted all the way forward…of course, you are blocking the view and breeze once you get past a certain point.

I called to book a cabana (but they were unavailable - not surprised) and learned that the loungers in front of Ama Ama are now being rented! We were able to book a few of those for our trip instead of a cabana, which is fine with us since we mostly want to avoid the 7am chair hunt to have a more relaxing vacation. Hope this info helps someone with their vacation planning and makes Aulani that much more magical!
We rented a couple times last September...loved it over there. It was quiet...no one else had rented. Unfortunately they did not tell us that the furthest casabella (on the walkway) was right behind a tree. What a view!!!!!!!!!!! The cast member had a good laugh with us.
Rented one of these chairs this weekend, and thought I would share a pic so everyone had a better idea of what they are. They are the same units available on the beach... just up on the deck. There are 6 available, and fairly close to each other. Chairs # 1 and #6 are closest to walkways. I requested one of those, so as to minimize the time traipsing in front of other folks. They were all booked the 3 days that I checked. It was a quiet place, without kids around, as they only accommodate 2 people. I had chair #1, and liked it for a busy Saturday. I don't think I'd grab it for more than 1 day though.
