When we moved in, our yard was covered in cactus. The land was previously undeveloped. So, while preggers with #4, I would go out daily with a pitchfork (that DH so lovingly bought me
) and try to rid the yard of them or at least most of them. I couldn't even tell you how many loads of cacti I removed. Enough that I ended up with tendonitis (btw, not fun when you are 8 mos pregnant). But, it was impossible to remove every last one on 1 1/2 acres. The kids know what they are and they know not to mess with them. Let me know and I'll go pull it up. DS decided to try get rid of one on his own. Apparently, he was hacking at it with a small shovel. His hands ended up covered in needles. With tweezers and duct tape, I think I got them all out. I guarantee you, he won't mess with a cactus again.
