Some interesting info on Copper Creek Villas

They will do what ever is the least cost. Just like all the other updated DVC resorts

They've spun an elaborate scheme to attempt and deflect from the fact the points are double the cost for the sams hotel.

Speaking of...when can we paupers who didn't buy DVC at retail rack price see the availability of this?

April 26th for non-owners to book there for their 7 month window. That's also the first day it will apparently be available for online booking.

pretty big conspiracy theory there!.....lol!

I know it's often a conclusion that when a refurb is thought to be less than it could be - or worse than it was - that it follows that it was thought the previous was spot on which isn't necessarily true nor what people are saying.

But I do have to ask why you think that hunter green wasn't a color from the 1900's? Yes, it was used in the 90's but take a look at a paint color brochures from the 1900's for example. It may not be called hunter green but there are colors that are close among the very varied palette.

I was pretty surprised with CCV choices after what they did at PVB which IMO blends together as a traditional Polynesian vision with some Disney touches that wasn't afraid to be dark or bold.

I totally screwed up this reply. It was to KAT4DISNEY about PVB. I also thought they did a good job with decorating there.
My DD, who is a huge Hawaii fan, thought the DVC units mixed the colors extremely well. I never thought dark bright turquoise would be good in a washroom but I was wrong.

While I do think it's overpriced and the dues are insane, I've seen a lot of posts on the boards saying that Disney is selling the same product for double the cost. That isn't true. Purchasing BRV direct from Disney is a LOT more than half the price of CCV. Buying any resort direct from Disney is going to cost much more than buying it on the resale market (except maybe vGF, vgc, Poly, and ccv).

That is an insane comparison to make...buying resale straight from Disney is insanity...it's $0.90 on the dollar for 75% or less of the product in many cases.

Now...what did they do last year? Threw a roadblock in the resales...which is the fair market value.

Why? Why not do it for 25 years and get lippy all of the sudden?

Because they jacked the prices $50 in about 5 years and exceeded the value. Just like they did with the deluxes that they are now replacing with DVC systematically...because they can't sell them at $550 a night.

None of these things are in dispute...honestly.

Your interpretation of that statement is one interpretation but it can also be read and interpreted differently which is what people mean when they say it. "Disney is selling the same product for double the cost" doesn't technically have to mean that the products are both coming from Disney, it only needs to mean that one of them is - the one that cost double. Where the second product, in this case VWL, is obtained does not matter.

Makes me appreciate BRV just that much more. Glad I am keeping my October reservation at BRV.

What did they do to ruin it, don't think I have been there since renovation.
Thanks
Kerri
Pretty much the same as they have been doing to all the renovations. Making them generic and losing the theming. And doing a half-a.. job at it, too.

OH, the paint job on the cabinets - the contractor should be completely embarrassed. And DVC for signing off on the job. :sad2:

Does anybody know if it will be possible to book 5 guests in a 1-bedroom if you bring your own bedding? The website just says "sleeps 4."
I've been told more than once that 4 is the firm occupancy for the one bedroom units. Sad since we will probably never get there now.
