I got my shipment from my wine club today, and in the accompanying newsletter, they listed a few strange laws in effect regarding alcohol. I found them quite funny (of course I've had some of the wine :rotfl2: ) so I just had to share.

*In Texas, it's illegal to take more than three sips of beer at a time when standing.

*Ohio law prohibits getting a fish drunk.

*Nebraska law prohibits a bar selling beer unless they are simultaneously brewing a kettle of soup.

*The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms bans the word "refreshing" to describe any alcoholic beverage.

*No alcoholic beverages can be displayed within 5 feet of a cash register of any store in California that sells both alcohol and motor fuel.

*The entire Encylopedia Britannica is banned in Texas because it contains a recipe for making beer that can be used at home.

:rotfl: That one was my favorite.

:rotfl2: Wow. I would like to know who has that little of a life that they can sit there and makeup the law that you can't get a fish drunk?

i'm gonna start doing a bunch of citizens arrests here in california :rotfl2: all of the gas station mini marts (aka "food/gas") have big 12 and 24 packs of brew next to the counters (along with chips, beef jerky and rice krispy treats) for those last minute "impulse buys" :rotfl:

I wonder about this one since you can buy home brewing equipment here. That seems odd but then Texas can be very odd. :confused3
