Some Human Shields now leaving Iraq as the War gets close

I just saw a report on MSNBC that many of the volunteer human shields who placed themselves at what they considered targets have up and left now that the War is actually getting close...Some of course are staying in Baghdad....

I know this may not be a popular theory here, but they are putting themselves in harms way purposely....I say MOVE IT OR LOSE IT..Their presence should have nothing to do with our plans, as they are suicide volunteers in my opinion.

It's pretty funny how these so called "human shields" are leaving now that the war might be within a couple of days. I thought the whole purpose of being a human shield was to stay there during actual war time. It just shows you how many of these people are such hypocrites and probably just wanted their 15 minutes of fame. As to those human shields who are going to stick it out during the war, may God be with them.

I had read that they wanted to ge positioned by hospitals, schools, etc, but Saddam wanted them by his military things. I think that may have changed some of their minds as to what a nice guy this clown is.

I think the whole idea of human shields is ludicrious. I saw an interview with some of them on some nighttime news program and I could not believe it. These woman were leaving behind their children and famalies to go protect Iraqis. It's one thing to leave behind a spouse, but leaving your children for something like this? This is a time when they need their parents to comfort, console, inform, etc. their children. Not leave them on a suicidal mission to protect someone else. They should be protecting their children.

Maybe they have finally figured out that they're not going to stop the bombing. I agree with you blueberry. They should either move it or be prepared to lose it.

What are we supposed to do if Saddam decides to torture them, though? Are we supposed to risk American lives trying to rescue them, then? I say they are on their own.

I giggled when I read the human sheilds were leaving because they may actually be killed. Maybe I have a twisted sense of humor, but makes them look like they had no idea what they were getting into (oh! bombs can actually hurt, maim, or kill.....duh).

Just heard on the news that Saddam called the human shields,"Useful idiots". Kind of sums it up!
