Some Hotel Help and Other Questions

Hi Fellow Forum Members,

My wife and I are planning our first trip to WDW from Wednesday, October 16th through Monday, October 28th, 2013. The trip is for our 5th anniversary as we got married on October 18th, 2008. This trip will be our honeymoon as well as we really haven't been able afford one until this year. My wife and I were looking on expedia tonight at the hotel, flight, and car rental packages and there were 5 hotels that we liked within our price range for the package deal and they are as follows:

Spring Hill Orlando Lake Buena Vista Marriot
The Flordian
Champions World Resort
Quality Suites Universal Central
Celebration Suites At Old Town

Out of those 5 hotels. Which one would you recommend?

Now, I have a few other questions that I would like to ask that are non hotel questions and hopefully someone can help me with them in this same thread.

1) How is the weather and the crowds like between those dates?

2) We are planning to get 4 day hopper tickets. Do we need to use the hopper tickets in consecutive days or can we spread out the Disney visits over the 2 weeks that we are there?

3) I also want to surprise my wife with a horse carriage ride on October 18th and I was wondering if there is such a thing and where is it located and how much does it cost?

If someone can help me out with those questions. It would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I can answer two of those questions. Your tickets won't expire for 14 days from the first use so you can spread them out a little. You can get a horse carriage ride at ft wilderness campground, not sure of the cost.

Weather should be good, I am partial to the Springhill Suites, I have alsways found them to be clean and roomy. I would stay away from the Celebration Suites, not in a great area. Not sure about the other properties.
