We only stayed two nights so not having housekeeping wasn't a huge deal to me but it was to some peole in the laundry room at AoA when I was in there. A few people were in there really ranting about paying $400 a night and not getting any type of housekeeping. Boy they were mad. They said they were there for about a week. I wasn't expecting any major housekeeping, but I will admit that I didn't even get our trash changed out. I did call and get more towels and such delivered.

I feel as though Disney is really pushing the envelope as far as they can, especially with the "lower" end resorts such as AoA and Pop. I mean, are guest at the Grand getting daily housekeeping or not? Contemporary?

These people must have been expecting it and didn't realize it. They should have gotten it at least every other day then, but didn't.

Disney’s every other day limited housekeeping applies to everyone and is disclosed in multiple places to guests prior to arrival on Disney’s website and via online check in. Those looking for daily housekeeping and for someone to make their bed should book elsewhere.

Housekeeping
Prior to your arrival, your room will undergo thorough cleaning—with attention to:

  • High-touch areas, like TV remotes and door handles
  • Housekeeping tools will be cleaned between rooms
  • Floors, which will be steam cleaned and vacuumed between Guests
Inside your room, you’ll find:

  • Individually wrapped glassware
  • Additional items that have been cleaned, sealed or wrapped in single-use packaging
And during your stay, your room will receive a light cleaning service every other day, which will include:

  • Removal of trash and used towels
  • Replenishment of towels and amenities throughout the room and bathroom
  • Wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces
  • Vacuuming if needed
You can also decline every-other-day service.

Please note that:

  • If you’re a Disney Vacation Club Member using your Membership to stay, you’ll receive service on the 4th and 8th days, unless you decline that service.
  • If there is more than one room on your reservation and you choose to decline service, your selection will apply to all rooms on the reservation.
  • We reserve the right to enter any room at a Disney Resort hotel for maintenance, safety, security or any other purpose, even if the Room Occupied sign is displayed on the room door. View Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules.

I just wonder why they didn't get any at all though? Odd.
Well, if you were only there for 2 nights, you wouldn't have received any housekeeping.
As for the others who were there for a week, maybe they got light housekeeping and they didn't realize it.
The housekeepers are not making anyone's bed these days.

I have found it pretty easy to not realize Mousekeeping has visited at times. We keep a clean room, hang up our towels, etc - sometimes if I don’t pay close attention to if they’ve put any fresh towels on the racks, I could easily miss it and think no one had been there.

Other times if we’ve really gone through a bunch of towels, had trash in the room (which is sometimes taken with the room checks), or used the coffee supplies and they’ve replaced them, it’s much more obvious.

I have no idea. I didn't inquire with them as they were very mad. They may have not realized it then. It was really strange to be in the laundry room at that time with them going on about it.

Makes me wonder if after Covid, will housekeeping go the way of parking and such and be a new "pay for" service?

MY 2 CENTS: We did a triple split stay for 2 weeks. (just got back today). 6 nights, 4 nights, 3 nights.

Requested towel service on 4th day of first 2.
BWV housekeeping was ALWAYS visible in the halls at various different times of day each of the days. Always asked if we needed anything. Only request was blankets. She (lovely lady) proceeded to give me the 2 blankets and a bag of products!! (never requested) I was delighted. Someone came to room every single day to grab the garbage in left (combined from all cans) inside the door so they could come inside.

2nd resort - BLT was also house-keeping visible on various times of each day. Always said hello and asked if we needed anything. I asked for one pkg of coffee. She gave me 3 with a smile. Lovely person. Garbage pickup EXACTLY as above.

3rd resort - I never saw a single housekeeper in the 3 nights 4 days we were there. NEVER. Never even saw a cart and we actually came back and forth more than the others due to Skyliner. No one came for garbage which actually annoyed me as I had placed it in same spot and really wanted to get rid of it. (I ASKED TWO DIFFERENT CM's at resort where the garbage room was and one said didn't know, the other said 1st floor (what??) No one ever asked me if we wanted anything.

RR is definitely lovely. Liked it last year and liked it this year but DH and I decided no more. The walls seem to be paper thin and, for some reason, anyone talking even normally in the hall reverberates in the room. Same exact thing last year and we are done. Considered buying and thank goodness didn't. Liked many things about the resort but the noise level was insane. OHHHH, also, We got 2 paper plates, 2 paper bowls and along with a couple of pieces of plastic silverware. (it was a studio). Other 2 resorts we got 6 of each. I realize they aren't putting the cute Disney paper plates like they used to but these were crapola and were left only 2. Didn't make a call as I 'presumed' wrongly at some time I would see housekeeping in person. Nope.

Hmmm...but it sounds like they didn't get housekeeping for the entire week...that's an issue.

Is there no housekeeping for longer stays? We have a 13-night stay at the Beach Club booked for August and I’d hope for some type of housekeeping. Will the sheets not get changed for 13 nights?!

We stayed 2 nights Poly and 6 nights BCV recently.

Poly was well stocked with single use recyclable cups/plates. They emptied the garbage the middle day.

BCV only had a few of the single use items but we called and they delivered a bunch more 10 minutes later. Our towels were totally changed out on Day 4. Garbage was removed almost daily (think 1 or 2 days were skipped).

It's different now in that guests need to communicate what they personally need. Seemed like Mousekeeping is quick to respond? They never went near the beds. You'll need to request sheet changes.

What I didn't appreciate was Bell Services at Poly holding the carts for ransom. That's for a different board... :)

They won’t change them as far as I know, but you can call and request new linens at any time and do it yourself.

Now that you mention it I think I read that in room somewhere... that they'll deliver new linens. That's kind of weird though, at some point somebody has to come in and change the linens for the next guests so changing on Day 4 or 8 at the request of the guest isn't much different.
