I have some ??? about FW.

There's no food court, so no refillable mugs?

Is there any type of grab and go?

What type of animals at the Petting Farm?

Do they rent adult bikes with seats for kids?? Or have kids bikes attached to the back? Are helmets included?(doesn't sound sanitary)

What would not be in the cabin that I might not realize to bring?

Can you see the MK fireworks from FW?

Refillable mugs are for sale at Trail's End. They can be refilled at TE with coffee, tea, softdrinks or the Meadows trading post with coffee and tea.

There is take out at TE or some quick type foods at either of the trading posts, but not like the hotels have.

The petting farm is home to several ponies and there are still some goats, but that is about it.

The higher fire works can be seen from the beach at FW.

cabins are great, i would bring towels for the pool, and if you are planning on eating in the cabin do a grocery stop (if limo) as store does not have a huge selection and prices are pretty high. we love the cabins and are going back this august for 5 nights.

Thanks.

I think were going to choose the cabins. I have a 3 and 5 year old and in Oct we stayed 10 nights at ASM and it got a little old.

I think 10 nights in a cabin would be better for our May trip. I like the idea of the kitchen and my kids are nature lovers so I know they'll love it. I just don't know too much about it.

So I'm trying to research quickly and find as much info as I can.

Is there a list of what's included with the cabin as far as in the kitchen?

You will be happy at Fort Wilderness for sure. Being that you're coming for 10 days you're going to have some down time and taking the kids to the campfire program etc, I think you're making a good choice.

No need to bring towels for the pool, if you look under the bathroom sink there are plenty of extra towels there for the pool, or housekeeping can bring more.

Could you fill me in as to what the campfire program is? We are going down the end of Oct for 10 days. We have kids age 4 and 6 and trying to come up with ideas besides the parks. ( we know the parks are there and just want to relax sometimes)

Since you asked....

The campfire is at an outdoor theater with wooden benches and steel bleachers at the back, roughly the size and shape of a baseball diamond.
There is a small stage and a large movie screen and a fire pit on each side. (sorry dont have a pic, someone will probably have a good one posted soon)
The fire is lit around 7:40/7:45 and the singalong with Chip and Dale starts at 8. There is an introduction of C&D and then the singalong is led by one of the very talented Cast members while C&D make their way through the audience for pictures and the stealing of chocolate chip cookies. At approximately 8:40 a Disney movie is shown on the screen (see sticky at top of threads for a current schedule) There are snacks, soda, beer, coffee, hot chocolate, marshmallows, sticks, s'more kits all available there. If you are fond of drive in movies or silly kid style fun its a must do while at FW.
be sure to say "howdy" to all our friends at "campfire" when you are there.

Sounds pretty cool, hard part would be keeping the kids up past 8 pm. That also seems to be our sanity time! Or at least my time for a couple of brews and relaxing. Kinda of a bummer they don't allow fires to stare at while tippin a few.

There is an ugly rumor circulating that I have been known to "tip a few" while at the movie.

I wont, but my big brother will be down there, he is staying at VWL.
you can recognize him because he looks just like me !:lmao:
