Some Flamingo Crossing hotels now charge for parking

As far as Homewood Suites goes - I saw some cars with permits on the dash but many did not have them. If you use Hilton's digital key you will notice when approaching any of the hotel entrance doors connected to the parking deck that they are labeled "Parking Entry" whereas the other doors coming in from the pool area are labeled as "Hotel Entrance". My guess is that if you use your digital key on any doors labeled "Parking Entry" you will be charged. This can be easily avoided by walking to the front entrance of the hotel.

I am currently booked for one night there next week at end of week at MVC.
Stayed last night and was a quick overnight so can't report too much ... but VERY IMPRESSED with the area for folks only doing Disney.

We left Magic Kingdom parking lot and arrived to Flamingo Crossing in 9 minutes. We ordered ahead from Firehouse Sub and took to room to eat. Home2Suites - HUGE room. We overlooked pool and was very impressed with it, right next to it was a big outdoor bar (with cover) and some outdoor tables. Also next to that a grill. Suite was well equipped. I enjoy having a living area also - sofabed was not firm. Good for kids. Water pressure a bit low but might have been our shower head only. "Kitchen" had all I would need. Of course next door is Homewood which would have cook top and bedrooms.

Flamingo Crossing area is so nice, so NEW, so clean, plenty of dining options, Target, other shops .... for sure a great area to stay if you prefer a more peaceful stay. Hopefully it continues to build out and get me that Chickfila. We left early so didn't want to deal with their breakfast. We went through Dunkin for coffee then headed north to Turnpike. Stopped right before Turnpike for CFA breakfast and kept rolling.

Disney’s housing is right across from Flamingo Crossing so I wouldn’t be surprised to see public transportation there soon.
This is an area that does not warrant public transportation and likely doesn't want it. I live in a county much like Orange County in an area much like the Flamingo Crossing's surrounding area. Yes, Disney is going to build some CM housing, so they will likely offer shuttles to on property for them to go to work. I could see the public transportation system MAYBE offering a single connection service that takes them down 429 to transfer to the 192 buses. I don't see any full service from that area because the ridership will be low. The area is expensive to live in. The apartments that are being allowed to be built there are luxury.

Actually Disney is Master builder of the flamingo crossing area and the landlord. The area is still being developed.
Yes, they have been for many years. They have been very particular in how they have allowed the land to be sold and developed since those folks have to be approved by "Reedy Creek".

You can actually book the hotels through Disney as they call the area Disney World Gateway hotels. The hotels themselves are not owned by Disney and therefore they won’t be providing their transportation.
Yes, that has been since the beginning. Disney Good Neighbor Hotels do provide transportation as that is a requirement. If these Gateway Hotels want to be Good Neighbor they will have to provide it. None of the hotels that you book through Disney that are not owned by Disney are provided with Disney transportation.

Reviving this thread because their policies have changed again.. it used to be $10/day for parking with a maximum $70 or $80 fee. That maximum is now gone and you will be charged $10/day for your entire stay. It's also added onto your bill by default unless you tell the front desk the day you check in that you don't have a car. Keep this in mind if you do digital check-in and bypass the front desk, because digital check-in doesn't ask you about a car but you will be charged!

Thanks for the heads-up. Checking into Fairfield Inn this week and will be using only rideshare, no car.

We just moved to Alabama from Los Angeles, and we’re heading to the World for an 11 night DVC stay in Jan/Feb. We’ll be driving from Alabama and I wanted to add a single inexpensive night before the DVC stay, so that we’d have a full free water park day (weather permitting) on our check in day.

The resort and parking fees in the Disney Springs area annoyed me too much to book there, plus I was thinking a quieter locale might be nicer, and from Google maps Flamingo Crossing looked quiet.

So I’m glad to read in this thread that it’s a quiet and convenient location. We’re staying at the Fairfield Inn on Bonvoy points. I almost didn’t book it because of the parking fee. In the end, I decided it’s only $10.

If we’re not too tired from our 7-8 hr drive, we’ll hit up Three Bridges at Coronado Springs for dinner. Hopefully a mellow-ish start to our trip. If we are too tired, we can grab a quick bite nearby.

Our stay starts at AKL. Early check in the off to Blizzard Beach.

lol it only took me three days to chose this hotel!

The free breakfast at Fairfield has a lot of options, in my mind that makes up for the parking fee. I took a piece of fruit and a yogurt back to my room for a late morning snack.

They did not automatically add a parking fee to my room, I asked at checkout if one was on there since I had taken an Uber, and was told no.

We might try the online check in and see what happens.

We were initially thinking we’d hit up Saana for breakfast, but then decided we’d eat enough breakfast to offset our parking fee!

this is a good callout and something I should've included in my post- I can only speak for the Hilton hotels at FC. Hopefully Marriott doesn't follow suit or their system just works differently

I can tell you that I have only been charged for parking at the Residence Inn. The other Marriott hotels have never charged me since February this year.

Home2 at Flamingo is now showing complimentary parking on Hilton's website. Homewood at Flamingo has conflicting information - both complimentary and $10 per day - listed on theirs. I wonder if they are switching back to free parking starting next year. Disney dropped their resort parking fees shortly after these hotels started charging.

I stayed at Townhill Suites a couple of weeks ago. They did charge $10 parking/night as a separate line item. The breakfast buffet was adequate, but I think folks were a little disappointed that the bacon was turkey bacon. They did have pork sausage and turkey patties.

Maybe they are charging for the parking deck (covered parking) but not the lot.

Homewood shows complimentary and then now has $15 per day under “other information”. Not sure what’s going on there.

I spoke with a Homewood Suites customer services rep yesterday via Chat to ask for clarification. The website now says free complimentary parking and the Chat Bot said $15 a day. The rep said $10 a day so who knows!

The website says self parking.is 0- $15 per night.
Some of the nightly rates include free parking. The rates which include free parking appear to be around.$10 a.night higher then rates which don't include free parking.

You can get free parking. You have to pay for it.

We are considering a 1st time stay at a Flamingo Crossing hotel for an upcoming overnight trip this month. Our only plan is to visit MK and EPCOT and we will have a rental car. I guess if we do end up keeping our stay at Homewood Suites at Flamingo Crossing I'll see if we pay for parking. It says self parking is complimentary but guest parking is $15/day. I assume we are self and not guests.

Been watching the Homewood Suites bookings for a couple of weeks now on a daily basis for 1st - 8th January. Probably not going to book however until Wednesday, the daily Hilton members rate was coming in at between $153 and $163 per day and was Showing complimentary parking. Yesterday it shot up to $182 ($181 today) and self parking was listed as an additional $20 per day. Looks like it changes depending on booking conditions in place at the time. I'd already decided that if I'd booked I would have screen shot the booking page showing complimentary parking.

Home2, Homewood, Fairfield, and Residence Inn hotels are all charging $20/day now for parking with no limit on the number of days you're charged- you will be charged per day for your entire length of stay.

I could maybe understand charging to park in the parking structure that is shared between three of these hotels, but otherwise this seems outrageous. Especially with the abundance of available parking in that area (even the mid to upper levels of the parking structure are typically empty). We've stayed there dozens of times over the past few years and have enjoyed our time there, but sadly this is a deal breaker for us and our extended stays as it just adds up to too much.
