Just back from a great week at AKL. Here are some of the places we ate:

Earl of Sandwich - My new favorite place for a quick and inexpensive meal. We had the "original" and the "all american". Both were excellent and cost under $5 for each sandwich. Sandwiches are served warm and on a really good bread. I went back later in the week and tried the "Beef n' bleu' - it was excellent too (though I prefered the "original").

Boatwrights - I went for breakfast and I really think Boatwrights is extremely underrated. I go each visit and I am never unhappy. We had the sweet potato cakes and the banana stuffed french toast. The french toast reminded me of Tonga Toast from Kona Cafe (except it sat on a bed of strawberry sauce). The sweet potato cakes remind me of pumpkin pancakes. Very tasty.

50's Prime Time Cafe - I was very hesitant to try this place again as I really don't get into the role playing here (I know others love it, it's just not my thing). Perhaps the server sensed this because she really left us alone (other than the "elbows off the table" routine). The main reason I went here was I was desperate to try the Peanut Butter and Jelly shake. YUMMY. My server said it was pretty much just a vanilla shake with a couple of scoops of peanut butter and jelly swirled in. I forgot to ask what kind of jelly -I assumed it was grape but I haven't tried it at home yet. We also had the fried chicken, which was very good and reasonably priced at around $13. My only slight complaint was that all the food came out entirely too fast. I think we were in the restaurant for less than 30 minutes from start to finish

Restaurant Marrakesh - Went here for lunch and loved it. I've been to Epcot many, many times and never even considered going until I read the positive reviews on these boards. The dining room was beautiful and service very attentive. For my meal I had the Combination Appetizer platter. It consisted of Beef Brewat rolls, chicken bastilla and a Jasmine salad. The salad reminded me of a greek salad - had a nice vinagrette dressing. The chicken bastilla and the beef brewat were similar - ground up meat layered in pastry puff then dusted with cinnamon and sugar. I also tried their mint tea. The server said it was green tea seeped with mint, then sweetened with sugar. I was able to almost perfectly replicate this at home. I highly recommend this restaurant for a chance to sample some unfamilar cuisine.

I am really looking forward to trying The Earl...I don't think I've read a bad review about this place. Your review of the Prime Time cafe sounds similar to an experience we had there, very fast, I was also glad the antic's were kept to a minimum!!

The Earl of Sandwich is at DTD.

Great sandwiches, salads- and all made to order (except the grab & go cooler).

Enjoy!!

I am also a big fan of Boatwrights. We usually do dinner there once a trip. I have never had a bad meal there. I guess because it's a moderate resort it doesn't get as much attention, but it should. I am definately going to eat there at least once on our trip this coming week.

Hi sjw4870,

Thanks for the great reviews. I have to agree with you about Boatrights for breakfast, we had the Sweet Potato pancakes last year and just loved them.
We also ate at Marrakesh last year and I just loved the mint tea. Could you please send me a private note telling me how you made this delicious tea ? Thanks again for the reviews.
