Some CMs May Be Quoting Incorrect Dining Plan Pricing!

Due to a recent rash of reports of higher nightly costs being quoted by the phone CMs. I figured I best write something up to address it and give the proof of the posted prices across the internet.

Mis-quoted
Currently, we've seen some pretty common price points being quote that are a bit off. The most common ones I have seen are as follows:

• QSDP - Adult $39.99. Child: $16.99
• DDP - Adult: ~$51, Child: ~$21
• DxDDP - Adult: ~$90

The CMs have been quoting these as "these are the 2011 prices". As it sits right now, these prices are incorrect even within Disney's system. To prove this, examine the following test cases.

Disclaimer
I am not necessarily saying the final package quotes are incorrect! If the CM quotes you the wrong dining plan price, see if you can get comparison quotes for your own package. They could simply be stating what they have for the pieces, but the total could come out correct.

I am also not saying that the CMs are lying about the prices. More than likely, they have some sort of incorrect information (which would explain consistency between the mis-quotes).

Results
To spare you all the numbers if you're not interested, the results of these tests proved that the advertised dining plan rates are as follows:

• QSDP
  • Adult: $34.99
  • Child: $11.99
  • No holiday upcharge
• DDP
  • Adult: $45.99
  • Child: $11.99
  • Holiday Adult: $47.99
  • Holiday Child: $12.99
• DxDDP
  • Adult: $78.99
  • Child: $21.99
  • No holiday upcharge

What can you do?
If quoted one of the incorrect prices, be sure to get the general details (#nights, dates, party makeup, and level of dining plan). Don't write the CM's name here, but the other information can prove useful. Also, tossing an Email over to wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com could prove useful to help them track down any issue that may exist.

Test Cases
Each dining plan should get about 8 test cases. In addition, we will need to get a baseline of the test cases with no plan. These cases are:

1. Regular Pricing
   1 Adult - 1 Night
2. 1 Adult - 5 Nights (This tests to make sure that multiple night reservations are divided up properly)
3. 1 Adult 1 Child - 1 Night
4. 1 Adult 1 Child - 5 Nights
5. Holiday Pricing
   1 Adult - 1 Night
6. 1 Adult - 5 Nights
7. 1 Adult 1 Child - 1 Night
8. 1 Adult 1 Child - 5 Nights

Other Variables
To insure proper comparison, all other variables (Resort/Room Level, Dates, and Tickets) will remain the same.

Baselines were achieved by simply selecting the constants above. They are all inclusive and include everything EXCEPT a dining plan. I was also going to include screenshots of each test case to back up the numbers below, but there were just too many of them. I do still have a GIMP file with all of them on different layers though.
