We are looking into having a catered lunch/early dinner added to our escape package (that we haven't booked yet lol).
How does that usually work? Would we pay x amount per person, or x amount per tray of food since it is buffet? And what are the options of what we could have at our reception?
Also, I think the attic said the FnB min was $1000, but $2500 after 5pm, if we had the reception @ 4 would we have to fulfill the $2500 or $1000 min?
And finally, what is the best way to pay for drinks?
Looking for some suggestions, kind of torn between doing the attic or just going to citricos and having them set a table aside for 20.
THANKS!

I may be wrong, but I think that to qualify for the lower F & B minimum, the reception would have to finish by 4.00pm. As for drinks, you can have a variety of bar options - pre-paid packages, BOC (bill on consumption) or cash bar. All would require you to pay an extra bartender fee (unless the bar bill reaches a certain amount, when it is waived). Food options you can choose more or less what you want from the restaurant menus around WDW or choose from set menus that would be dffered to you. I think you are obliged to have a buffet at the Attic. I guess that you already know that if you have the Attic reception, your Escape minimum spend will be $7500.00
Just to let you knw, I recently booked my dinner reception at Citrico's and they have been so helpful and efficient so far!!
Good luck with whatever you decide!!

I think you pay per person for a buffet, the more types of food you add the more the price goes up.

there is a ton of info and options, isn't there!!??!!

try cruising around here - look on planning journals too? i think you will find alot of discussion of different options and that will help you decide what to do for yourselves!

we are having a buffet, it is priced per person, as i have only experienced in the professional catering/dining realm. we are having a BOC bar - there are several threads too i know about people debating the bar bill decision based on their specific circumstances. also, lots of people have posted their actual budgets both on their PJs and on different threads so that could be really helpful, it was for us!!

try the search tool wothin the boards - i've tried to use that to track down real specific topics! :thumbsup2

We were originally having our lunch at The Attic. Our ceremony was at noon, and our reception was from 1-3. I believe it's correct that in order to keep the F&B minimum down, you have to be out by 4.

Our planner sent us a bunch of meal options. You have to do buffet (at least that's what we were told). You'll pay per person. Some are quite expensive (85.00++ per person), but the food looked terrific. The cheapest one was 34.95++ but that was a deli and we weren't too interested. We had settled on one at $45.95 when I decided that with Free Dining, it made no sense for us to pay for the food, and we should put that money toward a Dessert Party instead.

So that's what we're doing. Mind you, if we had unlimited funds, we'd be doing The Attic and then a Dessert Party...it looks beautiful, and very relaxed, which is our style. But we don't!

Here are the links our planner sent us:

Hope that works! For drinks, I've read a bunch of PJ's and it seems as though BOC is the way to go. Depends on your people I guess!

Oh, and yes, you'll incur the $7500.00 minimum. It's not hard to hit though!!!

Thank so much for all your help! This has made things so much easier. I am so happy I now have the menus and could do some numbers in my head!

I have only heard great things from DIS Brides who had a reception at Citricos, so I am pretty torn right now. Did you create your own menu for your wedding with Citricos?

And Now....anyone have any wishes DP menus?
I know there is a min. for sago cay but can't think of it off the top of my head, is it $500? And is it possible to keep it under $1000 or close to that (for 20 people)?
hmm...I think I need to start a new thread lol.

Hi me again!!
I have just had my reservation confirmed for my VR reception at Citrico's and have to say I wasn't offered the chance to create my own menu. I could choose to use the regular menu or the set menu (which is obviously a set price and thus makes budgeting easier!!). As we have the DDP and some family members have offered to use some of their credits towards the meal, we are eating off of the normal menu. The manager will let me know wht the menu is neared the time, as obviously this changes periodically. HTH
