I was an AP holder up until early april. MY DGF and I found that renewing our AP's is not in our best interest since our next trip is in late July. I have an unused 6 day MYW ticket from free dining last Aug. I plan on using that to upgrade to an AP. My mom, sister, DGF, and I all plan on getting AP's for that trip. My questions are as follows....

A: Where and how do I upgrade to my AP with the MYW 6 day ticket? It's basically an unused room key/MYW pass. I never used it to enter the park since I had an AP at the time.

B: When/if AP rates become available for late July can I apply the discount even though I don't have an AP in hand right now? Would someone in our party have to purchase one online or over the phone and have our voucher? Or do we need to have an activated AP?

thanks for an info

A: When you arrive at Disney for your next trip. Go to any PARK or DTD Guest Services Window. Give them the old ticket and tell them you want to upgrade to an Annual Pass. The CM will type some stuff in the keyboard and you will pay the price difference and then you will have a new annual pass.

B: No you don't need an AP to book AP rates. Whenever AP rates are announced for your trip, just call the reservation center and book whatever resort you are interested in and ask for the AP rate. (or whatever code is listed on MouseSavers or here.)

Now when you check in, they may ask for your AP. Just tell them you are about to purchase it, then they will put a 24 hour hold on your rate. Once you get the actual AP, then drop by your front desk and they will finalize the AP rate.

Sometimes they don't even ask to see the pass.

Carol,
You are a godsend. thank you so much for the info. You figure with 4 trips a year I would know what I'm doing by now. :cool1:
