we are going to WDW in the middle of November for my 17 year old son's Wish Trip, we will be staying at GKTW. we were only there for a few days years ago so don't know much, could anyone post any suggestion on rides shows, resteraunts anything a 17 yowould really like, we are doing discovery Cove one of the days, thank you very much, we are pretty excited, but my son has had med problems since he was born, so he is still a little nervous to get excited since he has been let down by his health before, again thank you

Disney is one of those wonderful places that has something for everybody!

At MK:

Buzz Lightyear is a must for everyone. You are taken through the ride as if you are one of Buzz's space rangers, you get to shoot at the bad guys, and the ride keeps score. Very addicting!

Splash Mountain is amazing because it tells a wonderful story along with the great dips on the flume log.

Thundermountain Railroad is more of a thrill, but it doesn't go upside down. Very fun.

Haunted Mansion is one of those fun classics that most enjoy.

Mickey's Philharmagic is an awesome 3-d show.

I see a lot of mention of DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney, but I'm not sure what age group it's targeted for. This might be something to check out.

MGM
I also know at MGM there are thrill rides such as Tower of Terror, and Rocknroll roller coaster. Then there are shows such as Fantasmic or Indiana Jones.

Epcot

I read that there is an entire interactive area that the teens love. I bet the kid's on the teen boards would be most helpful!

Thank you so much I will ask there too, I'm so excite we will be going in 10 days

I hope you have a wonderful time!

I'm trying to think like my teenage self! My kids are really little, but I'm trying to think of the things that get the teenager inside me all revved up. ;)

We had just gone in October ( I hadn't been to Disney since 1997 on my honeymoon) and could not get over how much has changed.

There is Animal Kingdom, too, which I never have been to.

I don't know if this applies but when the line is too long, FastPass. It's free and it's wonderful. Check the times for the return ride, and if it's a reasonable period to return, get a ticket. Then there is a window of opportunity to get another FP.

I'm 15 years old and here's a list of my favorite things.

Magic Kingdom-

Space Mt
Splash Mt
Big Thunder Mt
Mickey's Philharmagic
Haunted Mansion
TomorrowLand Transit Authroity
Pirates of the Caribbean
Peter Pans Flight
Wishes

Epcot-

Mission:Space
Test Track
Soarin
Maelstrom (Norway Ride)
El Rio Del Tiempo (Mexico Ride)
Spaceship Earth
Shopping in the countries
Illuminations

MGM-

Tower of Terror
Rock n Roller Coaster
The Great Movie Ride
Indiana Jones Stunt Spectaular
Lights Motor Action
Muppet Vision 3D
The Backlot Tour
Beauty and the Beast Live On Stage
Fantasmic

Animal Kingdom-

Primeval Whirl
Dinosaur (good ride, but scares me to death. I hate dinos)
Festival of the Lion King
Kilaminjaro Safari
Kali River Rapids

Some of the rides are roller coasters and are a little scary and intense. I don't know what med condition your son has, but the rides post health restrictions before you enter the ride. Follow them. I've seen many people come off rides green-faced and dry heaving.

Also, check out allearsnet.com
That site has a list of rides & descriptions

Have fun down there. There is something fun for everybody to do in WDW ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Yeah! :cheer2: Get excited you will have so much fun!

I think I love WDW more and more as I get older! I had so much fun there on my trip when I was 17! Im a total scaredy cat of fast things :flower: so I cant give much recommendations on thosy types of rides :flower: .

I do LOVE Splash Mountain. The Lion King show in AK is really amazing, dont miss that! I love the night parade at MK and Fantasmic at MGM. Philharmagic at MK was really cute, my ds LOVED this as it stars Donald Duck (my ds is only 2). I always like the good classics, Pirates of the Carribean, Spaceship Earth. Buzz Lightyear was actually a ton of fun, this was my first trip doing it!

We always enjoyed the rainforest cafe in DTD and Animal Kingdom just for the atmosphere. My dh swears that the counter service food in Mexico in the World Showcase is the best food anywhere! WS restuarants are great to get a feel for different tastes. I would do a character meal if your ds doesnt object!! He may groan and roll his eyes at the time but the pictures are priceless  We had a good experience at Chef Mickeys. I have heard so so reviews about the buffet food there, but we were the first dinner ressies (5pm) and found it to be hot and plentiful! This character meal was the most fun for us adults too. The bonus is the monorail ride to get to the Contemporary! We like Pecos Bills for counter service in MK, had great food at the Prime Time Cafe in MGM.

I dont know what medical issues your son has to deal with, but there is a DISabilities board here as well if you would come up with any medical related questions as your trip nears they could surely help you out! Ive lurked around over there and they have a WEALTH of knowledge :flower:

Im pretty sure there is a Teen board here as well? Maybe your son would like to check that out.

I hope this information helps you! I could ramble on about Disneyworld forever! Have a great time planning, that is half the fun! ::MinnieMo

If you want/need more info on GKTW post over on Disabilities. there are a lot of people who can help you. we stayed there last year- had a wonderful time.

Thanks so much for all the help w/ the trip suggestions and where to post on the boards, it all really helps, thank you
