Okay, I'm sure this has been addressed in other forums, but I'm curious to see what you regulars and others w/ more experience than I would approach this:

I'll be at a conference in Orlando July 23-29. The hotel is on I-drive, but there's no way I'm in Orlando and not staying at Disney, especially w/ the wife tagging along. I want to reserve a room at the Yacht Club, but I know the annual pass codes aren't out yet. I had heard that during this time of summer, there might not be any pass codes for AP holders. So, should I go ahead and book the room and pay the deposit? If I know there's no discount, we'll stay at the Dolphin or Swan, where I can get the gov't rate for sure. Problem is, I don't want to wait too long to book something and have the resorts full, but am leery about putting down 2 deposits at once.

Got all that? :)

Any advice would be great! Thanks for reading my ramblings!

Also, try going to Swan/Dolphin/Starwood website and see if you can book with gov rate with credit card hold. If a "deal" opens up at the Yacht Club, you could cancel. But since the Swan/Dolphin are so close to each other, you may decide to just book there instead. Call the Swan/Dolphin directly, (407) 934-4000, and ask if they have any passholder rates for that time. I am eligible for the gov. employee rate also, and I have an annual pass. I understand your pain. :scratchin It may be value season, but it's high volume season, too. If nothing else will do except the Yacht Club, I'd go ahead and book what you can afford, and hope for a later discount.
