I have my first cruise booked by a travel agent in 2019, who is very nice and helpful. And on that cruise, I booked a onboard booking place holder under him. Last year, we used the place holder for a med cruise, which was canceled. I paid in full before it got canceled so I got the FCC. When the 2022 summer itinerary was released, I emailed my travel agent to let him book the same cruise that got canceled this year. He said he would take care of it like he usually did. However, I haven't received confirmation from Disney or any email from him since. I tried to call him twice but went to the voice mail this morning. So I just lost contact with my travel agent. I will still try to make contact with him in the following days. But what if I can't reach him any more. How can I use my place holder discount without his help? I need to get prepared. The feeling of things not under my control is awful.

The best you can hope for is to locate the TA. If he's out of business, or just unreachable, it's possible that DCL will help you get the booking back and you'd just deal with DCL for the future cruise.

Thank you so much. I also hope I can locate my TA. So I will wait and still try to contact him. But it is good to know that I can get the booking back and do it myself with Disney.

Have you checked your DCL account to see if a cruise is booked? Maybe something happened with email or with a busy booking week he is behind with getting emails out. That doesn't excuse it, but might help you feel better to know if something was booked.

As to reaching him...eoes he work as part of a larger agency? If so you can reach out to the office manager or his supervisor. If not, and your DCL account doesn't show anything booked, I would reach out to DCL directly and ask them. With the past year, it's possible some TAs have closed business so DCL must have a way to shift control back to the guest. Good luck!

Yes, as @lanejudy said, check your DCL account. I haven't received a confirmation email for our S. Carib booked Monday morning but it was on our account. In fact, I never received an email for a confirmation on our Jan 2021 nor the May 2021 cruises.

Another possibility is to contact another agent. I know that FCC's are tied to the traveler, not the agent. My agent left her agency for a new one last fall, so another agent with that previous agency picked up our reservation for Spring Break, but once that was cancelled, I went back and rescheduled with my original agent and her new agency using my FCC.

Thank you for your information. But what about the placeholder? The canceled cruise used a placeholder

What type of time frame are you talking about with no contact? Days? Weeks? Months? And does your agent work by themselves or as part of an agency?
I ask because I had an issue with my Travel Agent not returning calls and I needed some confirmation documents on short notice. . She was part of an agency so I called the agency direct and they said she was off leading a 4 week tour of Europe but that agent could get the documents for me. My daughter was going to school abroad for a year and her student Visa required confirmation of a booked and paid for return flight home over a year later! And the British Embassy had a very short time table for us to secure that information.

I had a cruise from last year with a placeholder that I booked through Costco, which Disney cancelled. I was able to call Disney and book my 2022 cruise with them directly, applying the placeholder discount. Apparently them canceling it unlinked the placeholder from Costco. So you could try calling Disney directly to book. You would need to give them the confirmation number of the cancelled cruise for them to apply the placeholder discount.

Thank you so much for your information. I just did it myself through Disney. And it seems that the canceled placeholder can be applied to an existing reservation.
