So I'm attending Blizzcon in October, and wanted to get the full week off and experience all that SoCal has to offer (I live in MD, I don't make it to CA very often)... So I've booked Sun-Wed of that week (October 16th -19th) in one of the good neighbor hotels.

My questions..

I've looked at dining, and at the parks. Does anyone have any experience travelling here solo? I'm a youngin' (23) so I'm open to most activities. I'd like to spend 2 days at the parks, and have that Wednesday to do something else (maybe go to San Fran?).. but what would you guys recommend I see before I get caught up in convention madness?

As far as traveling to Disneyland solo, be sure to utilize Single Rider Lines when available. Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones, Grizzly River Run, Goofy's Sky School, Soarin' over California, and California Screamin' all offer this. Talk to the CM at the front and they will direct you where to go. The line is much, much shorter on those rides for those riding alone.

San Francisco is very far away. It's about a 6.5 hour drive from Disneyland. I'm not sure if you were aware of that or not, but if you weren't, I think that rules it out for a day trip on Wednesday.

If you're up for renting a car (you're under 25 so it might be a little more expensive), San Diego is much more reasonable at just 90 miles away if you're wanting to see another town.

Well, to literally experience all the SoCal has to offer would require many months. :) On the topic DLR, be careful choosing days of the week in October. It is kind of a hybrid month for crowds and you may miss some things you expect to be able to see.

Check this out before locking in dates: "What You Should Know About Off-Season at DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18462889

I second the recommendation to learn the single rider lines at DLR.
