Here are a lot of threads about going solo to the disneyparks. Anyone experience with going solo to the universal parks? That much different then the disneyparks?

I go solo to Universal most of the time. My trips are spur of the moment so most friends can't go with me. I really like going alone...you can do what you want when you want and can set your own schedule. Since I've been so many times and have ridden most attractions too many times to count, I just go and walk around, people watch, eat lunch or dinner and then leave. It's very relaxing to go alone.

been doing solo trips since 2006 and love it.
(to both disney and universal)

like metro west stated, your time is your own, do what you want to do during the day.

the freedom of changing plans, makes my vacations very relaxing.

no clock to look at when i am there.

i do a long stay at the motherland then switch to the darkside resorts on my trips.
that way i still have plenty of opportunities to do everything in the parks if i have sleeped in late on some mornings.

if this is the first time you are going solo, do figure out some basics.
check out the website to see what attractions are a must see for you.
work around that in your schedule for your park days.

Thnx for the replies. It will be my second time alone in island of adventures. Went there alone just for a day 10 years ago. This time i will be around alone for 8 days including some days at the universal parks. Im already looking forward to ride the hulk for many times and get wet on the popeye boatride ;). Also gonna discover harry potter because i never saw it before. I will properbly check out the citywalk one of the night because my hotel is not that far away. Someone any advice on what to visit the nightlife at universal citywalk?

27september till 5 october! Visiting both universal as disney. Seaworld and bush gardens i will skip, did those parks already my last trip.

Have you looked into Halloween Horror Nights? It's going during your trip and can be a lot of fun. :goodvibes:goodvibes

As for Solo at universal, I've done it as well, and I have a blast. IMHO, Universal is also more solo-friendly than the motherland as a majority of the attractions have Single Rider lines available vs. the motherland where only a few do.

The free lockers on some rides is also quite nice since you sometimes end up with larger items that can't stay in your pocket, and you don't have to worry about the lack of a "bag person" to keep an eye on your stuff while you ride.

My last trip I even took the time to explore some of the details in IOA that somehow I'd missed in many of my previous trips, including the walk about Popeye's little island.

I have been going solo to Universal the past 10 years because when I meet friends in Orlando, they are ONLY DISNEY people. The single rider lines at Spiderman, Mummy, Forbidden Journey, HRRR coaster and MIB are my friends. One person can always find a closer seat at the live shows and eating on the move where and when you want is time-saving. I will also be in Orlando Sep 28 to Oct 2, mostly Disney for Epcot 30 weekend but Oct 2 I expect to be at Universal before driving home.
