Solo Trip? Who do you tell?

that's the funny thing, I have gone with my mother & one of my close friends before ( I've never traveled to the world with anyone else) and with both of them I always find myself still swooning to the idea of one day going with my own prince, you know? I know it sounds silly, but that is eventually my wish to find someone to share the world with.
until then,

I will conquer it myself!

I have faith I will find my Mr. Right...and you will too!!! One day we will be emailing each other about our romantic Disney trips! LOL princess:

Thank you for your comment! And yes, my mom always worries! LOL She was worried about me driving in the dark and the fact that I missed my exit. But, it's true, I try to live my life...no point on putting everything on hold! Life is too short, I want to do the things I want to do...attached or single. :)

I can't blame Mom - my mother feels the same way!

Overall, I'm not waiting for any Prince Charming - I'm not wired for that. Maybe it's why I've never been into the princesses, even when I was a kid. I mean, I do like Sleeping Beauty - she's my favorite (maybe because I love Maleficent, lol) - but I've never bought into the idea that a prince has to rescue a helpless female.

I loved my solo trip to Disney last year, and some of the solo "days" I've had at other times. That said, yep, everyone I know thinks I'm crazy! So - now - I just share on the boards!

I'm planning my first solo trip in August this year and can't wait to get there. I'm just a regular college student who saved up enough money for a trip, but I still feel weird when I tell people I'm going alone. I haven't told many, but the ones I've told all seem to think it's crazy, but wait until they see how much fun I'm having

see, most college friends don't realize it until I'm planning and they see how much there really is to do! then they start to get interested.

but most my age don't save or can't afford a trip, so, that is why I'm going solo

Well I don't run around telling anyone who'll listen, but on the few occasions I've taken solo trips, I fessed up!

It's at the point now however that my co-workers know anyway, at least when I'm going to Disney. Whenever they come in and see a suitcase by my desk, they just ask, "Disneyland or Disneyworld?" :p

I tell everyone I know about Disney. Some get it. Some don't. Most of my coworkers know to tell me to shut up when I go on too much.

My main problem right now is that we've got a year an a half until our next trip, and DH and I deal with our Disney withdrawal in completely opposite ways. He's trying to ignore everything Disney because it'll make him want to go back sooner. I go on all the fan sites, I watch all of the YouTube videos I can, and I jump back into the DISboards with both feet. ;)

New member but long time reader of the DIS! Everyone who knows me knows I'm a lifelong Disney nut, so I tell everyone I'm going! They're more surprised if I don't go! I've been on many solo trips over the past ten years and I've loved every one of them (been w/ friends and family too). Once in a while I get a raised eyebrow since I'm in my mid-forties and head to WDW solo, but I go just for the joy of being at Disney!

You should tell everyone - period. I've never been judged because I travel solo - I think people are curious and in a way envious because many of the people who question me say they'd never go away by themselves. It's neat to explain all the advantages you have by traveling solo. My philosophy has always been that I'm not going to sit around and twiddle my thumbs waiting for someone that I'd want to travel with to be available. Be proud!

Excellent!!!! :thumbsup2
