Got up at 8:30am since there is no rush. I've already done AK extra magic hour and my PS for breakfastosaurus isn't until 10am. I had done that on purpose so I wouldn't be FORCING myself to get up early if I didn't want to. I am not normally a morning person in my real life.
LOL
Left at 9am for AK - got there with plenty of time to spare for the 10am PS.
I really like this character meal... the kids would have SO enjoyed this! I did this even though I was by myself simply because our entire trip the time before we had never even seen Donald Duck except in the MGM parade. That's it. NO pictures (except with Daisy at AK) and no autograph with Donald Duck.
Well I couldn't get pictures since no film in camera... but I could get autographs! Fortunately the CM and the food and the characters were worth me paying that much, even all alone.
The food was great (okay so I mainly only ate potatoes, but they were good! LOL) and since I am not one to eat a really big meal at one time (I just can't- that's why you see me trying to save half of meals each time if I can remember to not leave them sitting on a bench somewhere. LOL) so I ask if I can wrap and take some Krispy Kreme donuts with me and he says sure.... so I do- they get crushed in my backpack but I still eat them as a snack later.
Got Donald to sign Happy Birthday to my daughter and asked Goofy to write to my buddy to my son- but he also sat right down with the family next to me and "asked" the CM for a crayon and then "asked" him to ask me what my daughter's name was (and I told him) and he crayoned "Goofy loves Ruby" with hearts on a napkin.
It's in the autograph book and she was really tickled when she saw it because it was something he did on his own- not something I asked him to write.
He also signed buddy to my son in the autograph book ofcourse.
(note: I was only approached by goofy and donald duck- that's it. I'm not sure if more characters were there- but that's all I saw/interacted with)
Oh and the CM offered me a coffee or hot cocoa to go also (took the hot cocoa- I'm really not a coffee gal) -he was very personable... and I'm quickly finding out that some CMs are just people doing their job (which is all that is REQUIRED of them to do) and some are AWESOME with the Disney spirit- and really go that extra mile to make you feel welcome there- know what I mean? He also earned a bigger tip.
So I walk around a bit debating whether I should see Pocahontas or not. I did Kali River Rapids (with poncho again- didn't get TOO wet.. but wetter than Splash Mountain!) and then realized I could STILL make it to Pocahontas so I did- standing room only but it was a really short show. I know the kids would enjoy this one though- especially because the kids get to sit up front close.
Traded some pins for the kids... and then I did the Trek again and this time saw tigers up close! Really cool, man. Watched them for quite awhile.
Then bus back to the room- just for a short break and to "regroup" (with myself LOL) and decide what to do that evening. Decided to go back to MK and catch the parade since I found out it's a DIFFERENT one than the one I saw at 10pm on Christmas day in our last trip.. and I like the Share a Dream Come True parade much better! (one question, if those are snowglobes- where's the snow? Without "snow" of some sort- they are just big "glass" balls you know. LOL) I think the kids would really enjoy this parade also because they stopped every once in awhile and let kids come out there to dance with them. That's the first parade I've seen do that! Lots of characters... could shoot myself for not having a camera or camcorder.
Ohwell.. next time!
Went to Fantasyland and got some more character autographs for the kids. (mostly getting them to write Happy Birthday to my daughter) and then I was hungggggggry but they were closing up a lot of the restaurants at 5pm! What gives with that? The park was open for 2 more hours! *sigh*
So I decide to check out the Trail's End buffet since MK is practically closing up shop at 5pm already- and take the bus over to FW. I forgot that this buffet was recommended to take it "to go" and share it with others for it to be a good deal. I look and don't even see that many great choices on a very small buffet and it doesn't seem worth around $20 (with tax/tip) to me. So I call my husband and kids on a payphone there (so I can use the phone card without being charged an extra fee by the resort) and then took the bus to Epcot.
I figured that would be the best place to eat- but for some reason I was really feeling picky. I think I should have went to Pepper Market- that is probably what I was wanting. I kept walking around looking at menus TRYING to figure out what I wanted to eat- but you know how sometimes you just get in a mood when you are hungry but nothing sounds good? That's the mood I was in.
So I finally decide on Yakitori (getting yakitori LOL) and it was okay. Just wasn't much of it and the rice was steamed (I like fried rice- call me picky LOL) and the soy sauce was the kind I really can't STAND (some places here serve it also- I can't remember the name offhand though). So I ate it, but I was still hungry BUT I knew I shouldn't buy another meal somewhere because I'd already eaten a little and I'd just end up eating only a portion of another meal. LOL
Saw the acrobats again (outside this time) & then rode Maelstrom (oh yeah, that would scare the kids- no doubt!) & watched the short but interesting Norway movie afterwards. Everyone else just walked through the theatre to walk out-rudeness! LOL
Then back to the resort- arranged for them to pick up my luggage from my room (had just found out the day before that they would do this!) and called Mears to schedule my pick up for the next day. Got a brownie at foodcourt $2.56 and by the time I got to my room (after buying yet another $1 12oz soda- see a pattern here? LOL) it was 9:18pm and I was going to go to DTD again this night but I decided against it.
Trying to figure out what I'll do the next day (since I have to be ready for Mears at 3:20pm even though my flight doesn't leave until 6:20pm) and decided on just seeing what I felt like doing the next day. This is very unlike me to just not plan anything and go with the flow.. maybe this many days at WDW is changing me or causing me to not be so panicked about not getting something done if I don't plan it ahead of time? LOL
Around 10pm I decide to try to that "come back" program by making a reservation while still at the hotel. I can't remember the code that was talked about here and thought I had written it down but couldn't find it- so I just call the front desk and ask and they connect me to reservations and I do it there. They let me make the reservations at a bigger discount than the AP rate even without the code. I didn't think to ask about other resorts though.. didn't think they would be great deals (but I found out different from this board afterwards! Ugh!) so I just book ASMu again. I have to pay $200 deposit within 14 days though.. and the remaining balance within 45 days of arrival.
On to the next day!!!
