For me, it’s peaceful, I can do everything on my own schedule. I’ve organized trips up to ten people previously, family trips up to five, but nothing brings me more joy now than flying solo. No one to say “why do you spend your evenings following Cap-Loki-Thor around”…”you look stupid dancing with Star-Lord,how embarrassing”…I just don’t have to answer to anyone.

I want to know…what do YOU like best?

Oh gosh, where to start.

For me its a recharge of batteries, to clear my head, and I can just be free. I love the 10 hour transatlantic flights, knowing that I can turn off my phone when I get to the airport and for the next 12 to 14 hours I am off grid and my biggest decision is meat or veg option for the in flight meal.

And yes the no judgement or having to explain why you are doing xyz, or having to conform to expectations or be the one every else relies on.

Changing plans in the moment. Don’t have to justify why I suddenly want to try for a Tron VQ that morning when I’d planned to skip it or cancelling an ADR a couple hours out because I want wander a different park that night or not wander a park at all because I don’t feel like being drenched in the storm that just rolled in.

It is freeing not to be worried about keeping everyone else as happy as can be, because when I travel with others as the trip planner (and I’m ALWAYS the planner, by choice!) my wants always come last and my priority is their happiness. I can’t help it, it’s just how I’m programmed, so solo trips help keep me from becoming a crazy person I think.

Im the same, my most recent visit to Disneyland Paris was a multi generation family and friends group and I was the main planner. There was a lot I didnt get to do but everyone else had the most amazing time, they said there was no way as first timers would they have done so much without me. Even with food, I had to give up my favorite restaurant as the menu wasn't suitable for some in the party.

And yet we do it with a smile and wouldn’t trade it for anything- what’s wrong with us? 😂

Exactly, I think thats why Im enjoying solo cruising too. Its the off the grid aspect. I love using the App, same as in the parks, but its being able to disconnect from day to day life. Early mornings are my favourite times on the cruise, with most of the passengers not up, watching the sun rise with a coffee as the early shift crew preparing the ship for the day.

The freedom to do what I want, when I want, how I want . . . I know that sounds selfish, but when I go with friends and family I also sacrifice a lot to be sure the rest of the group has a good time. It’s nice to go for a few days and have the freedom to be completely spontaneous and not have to worry about disappointing anyone else. If I get tired and want to just rest for an hour, I don’t feel like I am wasting someone’s time.

I have my first ever solo trip planned and this give me inspiration / as I feel the same way !!! I’m really looking forward to this trip / my situation is a bit different as I am now divorced and on my own but I am putting myself out there to go have my adventures and enjoy Disney at my pace doing what I want to do not what everybody else wanted to do!!!

Same here with all my past trips, especially to WDW. Everyone had a marvelous time, and I really did love doing it AT THE TIME. But those days are fond memories and now I make new ones just for me! 😊

LOVE IT! So on point.

Sounds weird, maybe, but the ability to just be in my head and savor things without holding conversations and the freedom of not having to compromise :D. There are some rides I love that my friend(s) can't go on due to motion sickness, bad backs, etc. I love going with my friends, but there is definitely a satisfying sense of freedom when I'm by myself.

Being able to do what I want when I want. Not having to accommodate anyone else's needs, wants, and desires.

I am going to Disneyland with my mom in December and it will be the first time in over a decade that I have gone anywhere with anyone other than myself. It is going to be a very different experience. Not only because I am not alone but because mom has physical limitations that will dictate what we can/can't do.

That is me also...you just smile and do it. I am seriously thinking of doing a solo trip this year, never have....but I am afraid I would miss the sharing a moment with someone!
