Solo Tips for Mousekeeping

My solo trip starts next Tuesday. I'll have 4 days at POR. How much should I tip mousekeeping? Should I tip each day or just at the end of my stay?

I would tip two dollars a day (providing you're not so messy) and I'd do it every morning because the housekeepings staff may change over the course of your trip. Have a great time!

I also suggest daily tipping. $2 or $3.

Thanks so much for the quick responses. I've already made some mousekeeping envelopes using stickers from the dollar store. Following your advice I think I'll tip $2/day.

Yes make sure you note that they should take the tip. Left tips and money was there when I returned because I forgot to at least put a note that says TY. It does show something for the honesty. I usually just use the DIS pad in the room with a quick note that says THANKS!!!

Unless you require extra service from housekeeping or leave a total mess every day, there is no need to tip at all. Housekeeping is not a tipped position.

This poster is right. Tipping is not manditory, which is why I like tipping mousekeeping all the better. I always tip at restaurants, but I resent it a bit, because I should "get" to tip the server for good service instead of "having" to tip because its part of their salary.

Tipping the mousekeeper is just a nice way to say "thank you for taking care of us today" Leaving the mousekeeping envelopes makes me feel good
