Do a lot of people travel to Disney by themselvs? I never did but think if you had a good personallity it could still be fun.

I never thought of traveling alone. I'm just curious to hear the pros and cons of solo travel from those who have done both. I can see a obvious pro of never having to stop and consult a group on what attraction to see next or listening to some people complaine of the long lines. What elce. . .

I love going to WDW solo. I just returned from a 10 day solo trip. I had so much fun. The pros are that you can do what you want, when you want :) You also can skip a considerably long line sometimes, when they need a single rider to complete the car :) I really like that part :D

The cons...well that depends on your personality. I have no trouble walking into a sit down restaurant and eating alone, but I know some people don't like to do that. We have threads on this board dedicated to finding sit down meals to share with other DISers so that might help.

The only real drawback to travelling solo that I can think of for myself is that when I saw something magical I had no one with me with whom to share it. A very small drawback indeed.

I personally really enjoy visiting WDW solo, which is a good thing, since my dh is severely Disney impaired and won't go more often than the trip to DISCON each year :)

I agree....the only downfall that comes to mind is the lack of sharing the experience. I have only been solo a couple of times, but it was REALLY nice. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind at all being with family, friends, etc., but it was a nice change to be in total control & finally be able to see & do many things I've missed on trips with others that didn't always share my interests. I also find it cheaper to go alone for the simple fact that I could care less about stopping for snacks & meals. I have to much else to do! :D

BTW, Katholyn...love your Texas quote!! I'm a transplanted Texan myself (New Braunfels/San Antonio area).

Many Of my trips have been solo and as much as i love going with somone else I'm so glad i made the trips I got to do so much on my solo trips because i did not have to consult with another person I just did it I ate where and when i wanted to. These trips where the most magical trips of them all

I love my solo trips! My trips when I am solo are not 100% solo because I do meet friends that live in the area for some days in the parks etc, or I have had friends meet me at WDW for a couple of days but still 70% of the trip is solo and I love it. Like others have said it is so nice to get up when you want, go where you want, eat where you want, etc., etc. I also love my trips with family and friends but I value my solo trips just as much. It is my time to relax, unwind and let the Disney magic take me away!!!! Better than Calgon anyday!! LOL !!:D
