Hi. Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question. I'll be traveling to WDW with family the week of 10/5/24. Most days are busy at the parks with the group. But, I have one day for me. I'll have a car. Others are going to shopping in Celebration or Winterhaven.
I am looking for ideas for a serene outdoor activity. I was thinking golf, but I'd have to rent clubs and the overall cost seems too much. Plus I don't like to play with strangers.
I am also thinking about a bike ride or kayak. I'd need to rent bike/kayak.
Anyone know of a good place to do either activity? Or, some similar alternatives? Outdoor...active...serene.
Thanks.

I play golf in the Orlando area by myself all the time. The trick is to book the very first tee time of the day, and then i just usually go into the Pro Shop and give them a sob story about how i am supposed to be "working remote" today and is there anyway i can go off first by myself so i can get back to my hotel and "work"? They let me every time, just tell me that i might run into the grounds crew if i move too fast. Usually get my round of golf done in less than 2.5 hours and I'm back to the resort to "work" next to the pool the rest of the day.

That's great. I love this idea. Any suggestions on reasonably priced, good-enough course that rents clubs? I can't spend $300 for a round of golf. I am used to ~$50 w/ cart.
TIA

You mentioned serene so I'll throw these 3 options out.

Mt. Dora for walking/eating/shopping - just a charming town

Spend the day exploring Evermore Resort - talk about serene. I'm not sure if you can rent the kayak as a day guest, but we've been to this resort, and it is gorgeous (and right by WDW).

Fort Wilderness has all kinds of outdoor activities- canoe annd kayak rentals, bike rentals, archery experience, fishing excursions, a wilderness tour on an Segway and more I’m sure. And you can rent boats and bikes at many other resorts also.

Unfortunately I can't help you here. I always bring my own clubs and I generally play courses in the $100-$150 range.
