Hello from Warm Connecticut....

Do you think that male solos at Disney are treated any differently than female
solos by cast members at Disney?

Would other travelers especially families fell uncomfortable talking to male
solos at the parks?

Are there many solos n their forties and above at the parks? The postings
seem to lean to more people in their 20's or am I mistaken?

I am in the midst of deciding on the week I will be at the parks in either
Mid Ocotber or Mid November. Can't decide between staying at the Poly or
Beach Club?

This will be my first solo trip and would like to meet up with others for lunch,
touring the park, etc......

The solos I've gotten together with range from 20-80, the majority in their 30s & 40s and more over 50 than under 30. Definitely more women, but there are some guys, too. Just look for a thread like "who's going in October?" and put your dates in. I'm sure you'll find folks to talk to or eat with. I don't see any reason why solo males would be treated any differently than solo females by CMs.

Both times I have gone to WDW, I have essentially been solo, first time was a work conference and I went to the parks as I could. The second I actually went to FL with my brother, but he was at a work conference and only did Epcot with me on the last day.

I never had any issues, I went where I wanted when I wanted and didn't have to worry about slowing someone down if I wanted to stop and take pictures are eat etc. I had a great time both times.

never had any problems going solo but then I guess most of my solo trips ends as a group trip... have meet from ages 19 to 80 just like Jamie had mentioned above... have met both gender almost equally...

Good luck in your future plannings...

Oh and never had any problems with CM either majority are accomodating and forgiving on my nuttiness:lmao:!!!

I've also found the CM's in restaurants extremely attentive to solo diners (at least to me).

I would imagine this could possibly be an issue with solo men...esp. if the family in question has children. Sadly, that's our society now-a-days. Women in general are viewed to be less threatening overall and people tend to let their guards down more...but that's anywhere in life. LOL...I'm sure by now you're pretty used to being a guy and know what's appropriate when and with whom. Just don't approach anyone in dark parking lots...and you should be ok.

Usually I get less attention at restaraunts. Character meals I get put in a corner and kind of ignored which I don't mind. Just there for the food any ways.
