For veteran WDW soloists, can you tell me how I should approach my itinerary.

1-Should I follow the advice of Unofficial guide (and other boards) and go on the least crowded days;avoid EMH hours; avoid the MK an DHS parks when they have phantasmic and spectromagic OR

2-Should I go the opposite of this advice and plan my itinerary to hit each park on their EMH and spectromagic and phantasmic days

Herein lies my Dilemma.
On the one hand as a soloist I won't need EMH hours but on the other hand as a soloist I won't be as affected by the crowd level due to single rider lines.

So I am a bit stuck.
My travel days are April 28-May 3.
I leave May 3 afternoon so that is already going to by MK and breakfast at CP 0800hr.(park opens at 0900).

What do you think guys?:surfweb:

Well, I don't think you have too much of a dilemma, but thats a good thing!

Late April, early May should be pretty quiet, so I don't think crowds are going too be too much of an issue...there may be some grad nights in there, but that shouldn't affect you.

As far as the EMH issue goes, the nice thing about a solo trip is that you can get up when you want and go to bed when you want. Personally, I live by the alarm most of the year, so its nice to not deal with it at Disney. If you're up early and feel like doing an AM EMH, go for it. If not, then I'd probably skip that park.

When I go solo, I do look at the crowd predictions and generally stay away from the busy park. You're there long enough that you can schedule yourself to avoid the busy park on any given day.

Do you want to see Spectro? Do you want to see Phantasmic? That would be my first question. If you do, then who cares if it's a "busy" day. But if you don't care, I would say to avoid the busy days (stay away from EMH days).

Do you have hoppers? I always do hoppers as a solo because I like to have the option to go anywhere on a whim. That way if I enter a park and it's too busy, I can simply go somewhere else.

Have fun!

I never do park hopping. I can't focus or organize myself very well so I stick to one park per day:lmao: I have a day to day itinerary that of course I would change if I wanted to do something on a whim. But I feel better with a plan. (I know that seems to contradict what I just said about not being organized)
I have seen Fantasmic and I enjoyed it and I will be seeing it again when I go in Dec again! with my BFF. So I can skip that this time.
I'm not sure about Spectromagic I have never seen that and not sure what it is so I don't know if I would like to see it.
I just focus on going on the rides over and over-to be able to if I want. But I'm not even sure what my stamina will be like yet.

I sort of wing it, and usually take the first bus that shows up. Or I should say, the first bus to either AK or MK, as I will walk to MGM or Epcot. That is if I am at BW. If I am at a different resort, then it is whchever shows up first. But try to make a rope drop wherever I wind up. And will park hop.

I just did Disneyland solo, and totally unexpectedly. It was what I, as a seasoned WDW vet, would definitely consider "busy" and I jumped right on everything! They only have 2 single rider lines at the Land (or so I was told by a CM who took pity on me!) but I still managed to see literally everything, in one day, at a super busy time! For reference I was there this past Jan 2.

If I did WDW solo I would definitely check the crowd predictions but still go with my heart. Part of the joy of Disney, to me, is just being there and soaking in the atmosphere, even while on the "line ride" as well! And the nice part of going solo, which I just discovered while on my own, is that you can change whenever you want! Too packed? Hop a bus or the monorail! It's a lovely feeling, really!

And I am an absolute sucker for SpectroMagic! I even have the soundtrack on my iPod. It's a lovely nighttime light parade, and really worth seeing at least once. It's become such a tradition for me. I get chills everytime Main Street goes dark and the opening notes play!

However you decide to handle the beast that is Disney, I hope you have a wonderful time!

Better see Spectro if you havent. Main Street Electrical Parade is coming back this summer :cool1::cool1: (I like Spectro myself though).

i actually went for a solo day trip yesterday. It actually was a bit crowded but I was able to ride everything I wanted to. It wasn't an emh day but it was still pretty crazy. So as for that, I don't think you should worry too much.

I do think you should see Fantasmic and Spectromagic just because I think they are great. I found while I was there that the rides were great but it was also fun to be able to stop and watch the shows and the parades. I usually can't do that because no one else wants to.

So honestly, think about what you want to do and plan it out that way. Don't focus on the crowds or whatnot because it might make you crazy. :rotfl:

(I also have the spectromagic song on my ipod. I love it. It relaxes me. lol)
