Going solo for one day, Tues Jan 5. Get in to Tampa night before, will drive over, but have only one day. Never done solo before. Don't do roller coasters. My first thought was HS because more shows to see there, which we generally haven't done. The crowd rating Ive seen is a 7 there tho, compared to a 6 at all other parks.
Will it really make a difference? Recommend a different park as a solo? EPCOT would be fun, but Soarin is under construction, my main fun ride there. Right now I made a ressie for lunch in MK but not sure there is enough 'adult' stuff to do there.

This is the beginning of Marathon week also--- wonder how crowded it will really be on that day (before the weekend).

They aren't good enough at crowd predictions to choose one park over another for a one point difference.

It really depends on what you prefer to do. If it was me, it would be the MK hands down.

I'm doing a solo day for the first time in February, and I'm headed to MK. For me, I love feeling like a kid at Disney World, so it doesn't bother me that there isn't a lot of "adult" stuff to do. THIS adult loves it all!! :cutie:

Question, do you have a PH? If not, personally I'd do Epcot. You said you weren't a thrill ride person and Epcot has a number of rides that aren't thrill rides. The WS is a great place to be solo, I love taking my time and just wandering around there. If you have PHs, I'd do AK and Epcot. MK is great and there are lots of rides but if you want simply an adult place, it might not work. Personally, it's a half day park for me when I'm not in a ride mood.

If you want to do the shows at HS, that's a perfectly fine park for the day. The crowds won't really get in your way if you're planning to do those instead of thrill rides.

I have done about 10-15 solo days, some over multiple days and some as a 1 day visit. All of my solo days included a park hopper (or AP). I would usually plan a small portion of a day, such as wanting to see opening at one park or see fireworks at another, but other than that, I really do not plan. Many times I do 3-4 parks a day unless it is a multi-day trip, then I might only do 2-3 parks in a day.

I have not been since FP+ started, that might adjust if I plan a day more, but that is unlikely for a solo trip. I would probably just make that part of my small plan for that day. So, if I wanted to close down MK, I would make my FPs for MK in the last few hours of the night. If I knew I was planning to eat at Epcot for lunch, I would make the FPs around that schedule. I would just adjust or let them expire if my plans changed.

I will be leaving by about 3 I'd think. Get there for rope drop. So PH is not in play. Its a good point about the crowds if Im not doing the thrill rides= they tend to be worse there... will give it some thought. Made a ADR for BOG for lunch but that can be cancelled.

Personally, I'd do Animal Kingdom. You can Fastpass the Safari, walk the trails, go out to Rafiki's Planet Watch, see Flights of Wonder and just meander. My husband and I would do Expedition Everest but there's so much to see and do without having plans that we love to just wander around and see the nature.

Personally I think there's plenty of "adult" attractions in MK. Anyway, just do whatever park you feel like the most

I am definitely a kid at heart! So a solo day in Magic Kingdom is exactly what I would be up for. However, Epcot is a great option also. If you are not concerned about riding rides, strolling around World Showcase and snacking and drinking along the way is a ton of fun. Plus, there is actually a ton of cool stuff to see (shops, shows, exhibits) if you actually take the time. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy it!

Well, for me, if I had one day, I'd pick DAK because that's my favorite park. However my first solo trip, also one day, was before Animal Kingdom was built. I did MK, but that was mostly because I love the "little kid" rides, like the carousel and Dumbo, and DH is more of an "adult ride" kind of person. It took me many years to get him to go on Dumbo, so I use the solo trips to do the things he doesn't like to do (it also means he supports my solo trips-takes the pressure off him to do Dumbo!)
