I will be celebrating my 49th bday solo at WDW in August. I will be attending several character meals. If I leave my camera out on the table will cm's help me take pictures? I really want to mark this occassion with photos but would be a bit shy about asking others to take them. Any suggestions?

I did the Donald's breakfast at AK last year solo and my waiter was great about taking pictures!!!
When he saw I was alone he said he would make it a piont to come over when the characters where in our section so I could get pictures.
I got a picture with every character at breakfast..

jennib5426---I wish I had your waiter when I was at Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland. My waiter was nowhere to be found and I didn't want to bother the other guests during their meals to ask them to take a picture. I ended up just taking a picture of the characters themselves.

My past trip to Disney World -- I left my camera out on the table that let people know that I was very much interested in taking a picture with the characters.

I had the waiter/waitresses help me get all of the pictures with characters. I also let the waiter/waitress know that I was interested in getting my picture taken with all of the characters.

People at the tables in my area had also offered to take pictures of me with the characters. I had a fabulous time!

I am also very shy about asking people to take pictures of me etc. but you know Disney just does something to me and I ask:goodvibes

Have a wonderful time in August and incase I don't make it back to this thread before your trip - - Have a great birthday!

the waitress at Crystal Palace was wonderful about taking pictures of me w/the Pooh gang
At Stitchs Poly brkfst I mostly took pictures of the characters

I also left my camera out, and I told my server that I was VERY interested in getting pictures with Tigger. However, when Tigger arrived, the server disappeared. Fortunately, the diners at the next table were more than willing to take my picture. When they saw me hold up my camera and look around, I didn't even have to ask-they offered.

Then we couldn't leave out Eeyore. When they saw him coming, they grabbed my camera again and took our picture:

I really appreciated it.

Also, if the handlers are walking around w/ the characters they'll sometimes take pics for you. For both O'hana and CP, the handlers were great about taking pics.

The servers and the character handlers are good at helping you to take photos when the characters visit.

The only place where I had problems was the 'Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. I had just missed Lilo and Stitch making the rounds when I arrived, and Lilo never made it back to my table before I finished my meal an hour later. Also, there were no character handlers and the servers were all busy (or hard to locate) so I missed the opportunity for a photo with Stitch. He wasn't in the mood to hang around and wait so all I got was a wave as he wandered past. I was disappointed, but figured that I would try again on another trip. I did, however, get photos with Mickey and Pluto.

I agree, the waiters are good about taking picture. I was at LTT and most of my pics I just took pictures of the characters, but then my waiter had great timing and took my pic with Goofy... dont be afraid to ask them! :)

Also when ever a photopass picture was being taken I would also ask the handler to take my pic. Almost forgot, dont forget to ask fellow travelers! I was wanting pictures with the Villians after the Villian Mix and Mingle Show, and there were no photopass people, and there was only one handler for about 5-6 characters, so i just decided to get the guts up to ask a stranger to take my picture, and then i offered to take theirs! It worked out great! And as a bonus I got to speak with some Brits! I love their accents! :)

I would not be shy at all for asking someone sitting next to you to take your pictures. I know when people ask me to take pictures for them I do not mind at all. I'm happy to do it! I'm sure most people are like that.

My mom and I had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare on our last trip. I had been taking pictures of her with the characters and she was taking pictures of me. The lady at the next table offered to take a picture of my mom and I with Tigger. I was like, 'SURE!' I handed her our digital camera. She found the shutter release, but she couldn't find the view finder. I looked at the camera and realized she had it turned the wrong way! :lmao: She turned the camera around and snapped the picture!

Same trip ~ Mom and I were at MK standing near Cinderella Castle. There was a lady sitting on the bench. She asked me if I would take a picture of here in front of the castle. I said, 'SURE!' I took two pictures of her, she thanked me and was on her way.

I bet if you ask, cast members or guests, they would be more than happy to help you out.
