Solo During Food and Wine Festival

I want to do theF&W in 2009 . Anyone else ? I lrave for my first solo in 11 days andplan to do Disney every year or so and my next one is going tobe for the F&W.

If you are around at the same time as me it would be fun to meet up.

Darn it... doesn't look like our trips will overlap. But although I've already created my countdown (below) I haven't actually made any reservations so everything could change! But it will be fun planning together online and if you do go first you'll have to fill me in on everything!!!

I am thinking of doing a trip report so I will be sure to fill you in.

And unfortunately, it seems that I get there the latest of all, not arriving until October 19, when everyone else has already come and gone.

Yeah i'm gonna be there sept 31st to Oct 5th but i went 2 years ago I loved it....Drinking around the world is AWESOME!!!!

I'm doing my early stages of Planning but maybe we can meet up?:goodvibes
I'm planning my trip now too! I know where I want to eat, but I'm waiting until they release the March hours to plan where I'm going to be, and eat, each day. I have the deluxe DDP, so a lot of my schedule is going to revolve around where I'm eating.

I would love to try and meet up with some DISer's though. Where are you staying?

I'll be at WDW 9/25 - 10/5 and doing the F&W Festival for the sixth year in a row. Although, I travel with a friend, she is a late riser and we generally just meet up for dinner. IMHO, it's the best of both worlds. I get to do pretty much as I please and only have to pay for half of the room.

I take in as many free food seminars as I can. I've done a few of the wine tastings. Even though, I'm not a big drinker, the info was interesting.

In 2005 and 2006, I did a free Twinings Tea seminar at England's tea garden. But, in 2007, they changed the Twinings session. It was held at the Yacht & Beach Club and cost $75 so I didn't do it.

I'm really wanting to do the Party For The Senses on 10/4 but my friend, Shirley, absolutely refuses to even consider it. I'm hoping that I find a few folks on the Dis willing to do a Dis Meet combined with PFTS.

^^^^^^ hey my BF and I will be at WDW the same time as you and he's a chef so I know he'll want to do as many things as possible so we could join you if you'd like :) How did you know what's going on already??? Please do share
And we can do the drinking for you:drinking1

Many of the events stay fairly consistent from year to year. The guest chef will change but they always have certain signature events. Here is a link to last years F&W Guide. The front part is primarily the pay events and the back part are free:

If I think about it, I may got to the meets message board and try to set up a DisMeet for the PFTS.

Since I have my two Disney trips plan for this year which does not include F&W, I'm thinking about going to the F&W in 2009.

You'll be there pretty much the same time as me, except I'll be there on the 21st, and will be leaving a couple of days before you. Where are you staying?

Pop Century aka "Scopa Towers" :rotfl:
I just need a place to sleep and shower. Otherwise you will find me out and about. My friend, Shirley, on the other hand can often be found in the room watching soaps or napping. :confused3 By the end of our trip, she is often fast friends with MouseKeeping

I'm staying at Pop too. I'm like you, the room is for sleeping, showering, and a place to dump my souveniers all week. I go to the parks every day at opening, and stay until closing, almost every day of the trip. Except this time I'm there for thirteen days, and I only have a ten-day hopper, so I won't be going to a park on my arrival or departure days, or a day somewhere in the middle. But the first day, and mid-trip, I'll go to DTD on those days, and the last day I'm going to do a character breakfast, so I'll be keeping myself busy.

I love doing a character breakfast on my last morning. On the last trip, I did 1900 Park Faire for the first time. It was fabulous - Strawberry Soup and Crab Eggs Benedict....yummy!

We also have a tradition of going to Chef Mickey's for our first dinner. It really sets the "Disney Mood" an you gotta love those parmesan mashed potatoes!

WOW can she make towel animals yet. :rotfl2:

I can't wait until the schedule comes out. ith my luck I will plan stuff and it will be the year they change things.

Glad I found this thread. I just found out this morning some ladies I met on an earlier solo trip are planning another for Oct 3rd - Oct 9th. I've been wanting to go this fall so I'm planning to go Oct 2nd - Oct 9th. If you're interested in sharing some meals and touring this is a great way to do it. You aren't committed to spending all your time with others but it does give you someone to share meals and excitement with occasionally.

Here's the link - Another 2008 fall trip

Thanks that really helps. I didn't plan on any TS in EPCOT either. I think I may gravitate to EPCOT for part of each day for a meal. The only other eating expierances I want are tea the GF and a special dinner a Jiko. There is little opportunity where I live to not sample the world.

I've never been to Jiko but it's on my 'must do' list for this trip. I'd love to join you if you would like company. The tea at GF is also a must do every trip.

I'm thinking about doing the Party. Not sure if anyone else will be interested but when I responded to the Dismeet thread quoted above I put it out there. If I decide to include it in my planning I'll let you know. Sounds like fun.

Anyone else traveling during this time period?
