Hey there,
I am from Texas and I have noticed a lot of people from the florida region and the east coast. I wanted to set up a place for those of us that are solo travelers and singles from Texas. The state is huge but sometimes it is nice to know there are more of us from the same place. I am Austin based and I can't wait to hear from more Texas Disney Fans!

I'm in Houston! So glad to finally see more people on the boards from the lone star state. :cool1:

I have trips planned in June (family), September (solo), and January (family).

Count me in! I'm down on the Pearland/Friendswood line, and my teenage son and I are both huge Disney fanatics. Our last trip was in February. Next year is another cruise -- have to alternate until I hit the lottery! :thumbsup2

Nice to meet y'all! :goodvibes

 I would probaly be one of the people who stops to clap.

:rotfl: I have only been to Texas once (other than multiple layovers in DFW), but I didn't have the urge to try it. ;)

you are welcome to hang out and chat with the texas people! we are very friendly...most of the time

Thanks! So far this thread is the closest geographically to California. lol

I went to Dallas in October of 2009 to see the U2/Muse show at the new Cowboys stadium. I actually really liked Dallas. But what threw me off were the toll roads. My buddy and I didn't know which ones we had to stop at! :confused3 Do you guys have those all over the state?

Not from Texas, but my job takes me to Beaumont every now and again. Really great bunch of true honest folks down there. I got to attend my 1st crawfish and catfish cookout a while back, which was a whole new experience for a yankee like me.

I also got to visit Austin a few years back and had a blast. I was doing the tourist thing, but was able to check out Troublemaker Studios, the Texas Chili Parlor, and the orginal Alamo Draft House ... all of which were on my geek to-do list.

Ah yes, the house that Jerry built.
Dallas is throwing up toll roads every chance they get. If they have to work on the roads they put tolls on it when they are done.

There is a shortage on money for roads and bridges so they are hoping to raise money through toll roads.
Unless I am willing to take an hour to get to work I have to hit at least 2 of them.

anybody can tell me about Six Flags in TX????

Well six flags over texas in arlington/dallas area is pretty fun they have the mr. freeze ride which is pretty awesome it takes you straight up and down and then you go through the whole ride again backwards, unless they closed it there is also a bobsled coaster which is amazing! The texas giant is one of my favorite coasters there and then there is the newest one the titan which is seriously crazy fun!

Six Flags fiesta texas is the one I visit the most since it is only and hour and half away from me. This one is in san antonio and has the rattler which is a great wooden rollercoaster but be prepared to have crazy whiplash it is pretty rough. One of my favorites is supposed to be a tweenish kid ride the roadrunner express which is based on the road runner and they coyote. I also like tony hawk's big spin and the poltergeist! there is a new one that just opened in the last couple of years and it is really fun at the entrance to the park but I can't remember it's name.

I can't remember if there is a six flags in houston if there is I have not been there.

hope that helps

The Texas Giant has been redone. It is bigger and better and smooth again. The old wooden coaster had gotten so ricketty that it was actually painful to ride.

The Titan is great. It starts off by taking you up to heaven and then dropping you steeply into twist and turns and corkscrews. Very nice.
The Gotham area has the Batman and Mr. Freeze as Teresa mentioned.
DSD(-5 days till 18) works in park services out there.

It is a good park. Plus Hurricane Harbor(formerly WetnWild is across the freeway and is also owned by Six Flags.

I Think SixFlags owned AstroWorld in houston at one point... But I believe I read someplace that the park is no more.

Houston peeps.... Astroworld is dead, right?

That is what I was thinking of....astroworld lol

I would have to say that out of all of our theme parks I love schlitterbahn!

I really need to go there this summer.

Another Texas solo from Down in the Valley (the Valley so low;)). Actually I'm a happily married solo, but since DH isn't as much of a Disney lover as me, I'm often doing WDW solo.
