I'm driving down to FW just for opening of Star Tours and I decided to go as cheap as possible so I'll be solo camping in a tent for 3 nights! Anybody else done that?

The wife and kids decided they'd wait to ride Star Tours until the fall. How can one wait for Star Wars? Sheesh!

Sounds like a winner to me,,have fun, :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
And may the force,,well, you know.

I've done the solo thing before and had a good time, the only caveat I would offer is to either keep your site setup fairly simple or be prepared to allot a fair amount of time to setting up and taking down. The one downer was spending 2 1\2 hours of my last day there taking everything down and reloading the car. I had a fairly complex setup including tent with a/c and screen room and tarps; I was staying for 6 nights. It takes a lot longer with no one there to help you out.

Good idea on keeping the setup simple. I'm only staying for three nights so I plan on keeping it simple.

Star Tours opens on May 19th or 20th whichever is the Friday!

I did it solo in Jan and then with a friend this past week.

Everyone is different. My personal experience is also to keep it simple. Also my personal experience (again everyone is different) is that it was a bit lonely without my wife and son there.

I was at the camp a bit more than I probably should have been. I'd suggest being in the parks or at least be busy as much as possible. While relaxing alone IS NICE, you dont want to do it ALL EVENING (IMO).

You'll be among the few there that are alone (from my experience) and that in itself can make it lonely.

My suggestion is, if parks are closed, stroll around Contemporary Resort or Fort Wilderness and come to camp shortly before you're ready to go to bed.

Being bored at a campsite, and being alone can be a bummer.

I am a Painter and have wanted to ditch the family and load up on Disney pictures for some time, but the family will not let me go alone! Even the dog is staring at me as I reply to this post saying your not going to the Fort without me!!!

BTW, when does it open?

It opens May 20th. The beginning of Stars Wars weekend and better yet, my Birthday. My family already knows my plans for that day and most of it does not involve them as they would not like the crowds nor Star Wars.
