I will be doing a solo stay at POR the first week of October. When I go to the pool what do I do with my stuff i.e. key, t-shirt and shoes?

I'd leave my key to the world in my shoe then toss the tshirt over that under a pool chair.

If you are concerned with leaving the key you could always wear a pair of men's board shorts over your suit. they usually have pockets that have zippers or velcro.

I also have one of those waterproof "wallets" - effectively a plastic container on a string with sealed lid. Only used it at the waterparks where we were away from our stuff. Held our Key and some cash for ice cream etc .

at water parks we left our stuff , less the wallet , at our chairs most of the day - no problems.

Have a great trip.

I tossed my t-shirt and sandals under a chair. I wore a pair of waterproof shorts and tucked my KTTW card in my pocket.

Thanks for the responses. I am a bit nervous about the whole pool thing. I have always maintained that you couldn't pay me enough to be seen in public in a bathing suit. But I decided to be brave and bought a cute two piece suit--jogger shorts and tank top--from LL Bean. Now that I know what to do with my stuff at the pool I'm ready to take the plunge.:goodvibes

Take the plunge. I think everyone on this board and everyone around the world has seen someone somewhere in a bathing suit that didn't have a model's body. My husband has a Dunlap body (the stomach "done lap" over the belt) and he's out there in his bathing suit. My father is 78 years old and he wears a Speedo (I know, it should be a SpeeDon't but he's 78 so I don't argue with him, just pretend he's not with me).

As far as your stuff, we always just put our shoes and T shirt on the ground somewhere (so we don't occupy a chair if we don't need it) and then put the room key under the shirt. We figure that no one really wants a potentially smelling T shirt and who the heck wants to take someone else's shoes? It's not like you'll be wearing a designer label to the pool (well, maybe some do). As for the key, you can always get that replaced (it's a hassle but you can do it) and there's no room number on it anyway.

Relax and have fun.

I'm not sure about POR, but many of the resorts at WDW pools do have lockers available near the pool area.
