just booked a solo trip for the first weekend in May. Havent done Ohana before and really wanted to try it. My only concern is the Family Style dining? Is it too much food? Is it akward? thanks for any insight from those that have done it before.

I have no issues dining solo as I travel a lot for work.

don't even remember a table for 2 - just 4.

think you will enjoy it! would go for about 45 minutes before the fireworks and ask for a castle view.

There are tables for two. I have dined here solo and had one good and one very bad experience. The bad experience involved basically being ignored by the server who would deliver cold food and disappear so I could not get any additional. I finally flagged down another server and asked for the manager who promptly brought more hot food himself and comped most of the meal.

The beginning family style dishes are a lot of food, but you will get that anywhere. Just resist and wait for the skewers from the grill.

One suggestion I have is to make the reservation so that you are in the restaurant when Wishes starts. They turn down the lights in the restaurant and pipe in the music and you can watch through the floor to ceiling windows.

I'm also going April 15 for dinner solo.....hopefully it'll go ok. I read somewhere that you can also sit at the bar? I might do that instead and eat....

I enjoy going to Ohana but I really think it's a lot of food for one person, nevertheless I say go for it and enjoy.

you can use the bar - but the bar is not really inside 0'hana - so you are missing the real feeling of the place - atmosphere.

so go in - just because you are solo - believe me Disney is one of the best places for singles - my allergies are why can't eat out - okay also time away from the parks...:scratchin

Definitely a lot of good food but you will really enjoy it. I agree to go before Wishes. It's a great view.

I went to 'Ohana last year not solo but with a non eating infant. :) I greatly enjoyed it. I didn't finish all of the wings or dumplings, but it's nice that they bring you out a good portion just in case. The server checked on me quite frequently.

Truthfully even when I go there with a large group, we never finish everything they bring out.

There are several tables for two, but when you check in I'd request one by the window (there are many around the room). There are two of them right outside the kitchen door, it's not a great location.

I did 'Ohana solo in Sept last year.

It was okay. It is alot of food as other posters have mentioned. I felt kinda bad leaving so much behind. I love the noodles, the wings and the potstickers. popcorn::
