For the solo travelers... what do you do during the "downtime" of waiting for a show to start, waiting for your entree to arrive, waiting for the parade to start... those times where you'd normally be chatting with your traveling buddies?

Check your smart phone, jot in a journal, draw, read, crochet?? Or do you just take in the scenery or strike up a conversation with a stranger? Do you suggest an "activity" for these times?

Thanks!

I usually just people watch! Very interesting stuff at Disney....

For times I know I will be waiting a long time (like for Fantasmic), I carry a magazine with me.

Sometimes I strike up conversations with people too.

I took in all the sights, sounds, and details I could. I did strike up some conversations with others in line occasionally. However, not many people will talk to strangers (or at least I found). I did buy a hidden mickey book too to help pass the time.

I normally play with my smartphone, text my friends or read my Kindle or if it's something of intrerest I'll take pictures of the area. when I travel solo it's normally so I don't have to interact a lot with people (not that I'm not social, I just want some "me" time)....or if I'm waiting for a show to start I will play my DS...it's all about the relaxing time for me.

LOL...I don't need to know you to chat to you. I usually just pick someone and start chatting away. I usually start off with chatting about whatever it is we're waiting to start...and the next thing you know...you're adopted. ;)

On my trips to DL I usually listen to my ipod or play a game on my phone.

I thought I'd do the same in WDW (I even "borrowed" my son's iTouch so I could play games without worrying about my phone dying in the middle of the park), but ended up not even using it.

For the most part I used my wait time either journalling about the trip on my phone or reading my Kindle. I went through 2.5 books in the week I was there!

I have the Kindle app on my Droid, so if I'm waiting somewhere and I don't have my Kindle with me, I can sync my phone to the Kindle and pick up my book right where I left off. It's actually very easy to read on the Droid.

If I'm in a restaurant by myself, the waiter/waitress usually check back with me often and chat a little. I enjoy meeting the CM's at the different restaurants in the WS.
