Sold out MVMCP 12/20 = big crowds?

Okay, we are taking our first Christmas trip and have not planned on going to MVMCP, but we are planning on going to MK on 12/20. Seeing as how they have stated that the party is sold out, does anyone else think that the park will be full for the day or will most of those planning on attending the party show up at 4pm?

We were hoping that the fact that the park closes at 6pm that the crowds would be smaller for the day and would increase around 4 pm, at which time we planned on taking off and doing a little resort hopping to see the many Christmas decorations and then grab a bite to eat at one of the resorts.


Any thoughts? Should I change my plans for the day and pick a different park?

We went to MK this past Tuesday, and also stayed for MVMCP.

The crowds during the day were light! (The crowds actually seemed heavier at the party than they did during the day).

Still, both during the day and during the party we were able to pretty much walk onto all the rides.

early park that day which I don't think it is that day. You can always park hop when a park is over-crowded, if you have that privelege. Also, remember, you can add that option into your trip there. I wouldn't think of not having park hopping for Christmas week.

I would leave and be close to the exit right after the parade; otherwise, you will get caught in the crowds coming in. Keep in mind, everyone else at the park that day will want to do the same thing.

Starting with Dec 18 which is also sold out for MK's party the crowds will be large at WDW. All you can do is hope it's not too bad. It's a happy time there; so, enjoy it all.

Based on my sold-out Halloween visit and other reports here, the park won't be full. However, the people who are there tend to get clumped, so parts of the park seem crowded while other areas are near deserted.

Not sure how crowded the park will be during the day, but I wouldn't worry about the 4PM thing. Although the word is getting out a little, the vast majority of party goers are showing up after 6:00.
