Sog?

Our SIL was told that she would have to cancel her reservation at SOG (CR) because her husband has been shipped overseas and will not be able to go when they were scheduled. Does anyone know if this true or if the person who told her this was wrong? This would seem like such a lousy way to treat the family of a member of the military.

As long as your SIL Has a military ID card she should still be able to get into SOG. Last May I went to disney with my 2 DD's and my parents. My dad is retired Coast Guard and at the last minute he didnt think he would be able to go on the trip with us. I called SOG and they said as long as my mother has her ID card she could still get us all in. My dad did end up coming on the trip and we had a wonderful time. Who told your SIL that story? I would call SOG and talk to someone else.

I am a dependant and I have stayed at SOG by myself before. And, the last time we stayed at the CR (through SOG), I couldn't find my ID card when we were checking in and DS showed his (he is only 15)--
Your SIL will have no trouble checking in herself.

However, another thought struck me--maybe your SIL may be hesitant to go because her spouse isn't able to go and she is trying to find a graceful way out... I hope it all works out for you all and your SIL doesn't cancel. This is one of those perks that don't come along very often. The CR is a wonderful place to stay and the rate is absolutely great.

Ditto what's been said above....as long as she's an ID card toting "dependant", she should be able to do it. If I wasn't a DOD employee, I would be able to use the facilities with my son's IDs (with them, of course), even though I'm divorced from their father, who is retired military.
