We just got a call from SoG today, and are confirmed for next October and November.
Rates have gone up just a bit, but it was understandable due to renegotiations with Disney about the CR North Garden Wing rooms.
We're just glad that we've gotton in (finally)!!!

Good luck everyone!

That's right, and we were told that when SoG reopens, the rates will go up another $3.

These are the rates for a "standard room" at CR listed in a letter I received from SOG this week. Although the letter did not group the prices in a category heading, I assume they still use the 4 category groupings.

$69.00
$92.00
$98.00
$102.00

Add $10.00 to each for a "Ground level with patio room" rate.

I forgot to add this to my previous post. The new rates are for reservations starting on or after 10/01/03

whether this means that DoD is done negotiating with Disney with respect to the CR? In a previous post, I had read that anyone with ressies after 10/1/03 was put on the waiting list, since technically DoD hadn't reached an agreement with disney for extending the Garden Wing reservations. I'm hoping to call SoG for ressies for a 12/8/03 trip and was just wondering if they are taking ACTUAL reservations yet or still putting people on the waiting list....

Thanks!!:p

We were told the same thing after prying a bit for more information concerning our October ressie.
We always book early, and when we were informed that we were on the "waitlist" for October I got concerned and asked more questions.
After the renegotiations were explained, we were okay with it, and made our ressies for Nov. last week. We were also waitlisted for this ressie.
Thursday afternoon we were informed by phone that our Oct. and Nov. ressies were confirmed, but at the new higher rate.

We'll probably be checking on December reservations soon, so maybe I'll get more up to date information about the reopening.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the info!!

Should I be jealous that you have an October, November, and soon-to-be December ressie!!?? You lucky dog!!:earseek:

From what I understand, stays at the new SoG won't start until December 16, 2003. They are not accepting ressies until December 9, 2002. This is the info I found on their website a few weekes ago when I booked our August trip---I was hoping that the construction would be done early. Yeah right :p i should know better when comes to the military/MWR LOL.

Here's a link to the SoG page that talks about when they are beginning to accept ressies: http://www.armymwr.com/shades/contemp.htm

Actually, I was kind of looking forward to being at the CR instead of the *new* SoG....until most of the kinks are worked out (and I'm betting that there will be kinks!!;) ). CR Garden Wing seems to be pretty convenient! I'm assuming (since we're dealing with the military) that the opening will be later rather than sooner!!

DH and I are in kind of high stress work, so we try to get away for a weekend a month.
**Have to justify those APs**
I budget really well, and we never overextend ourselves- we learned the hard way about how easy it is to get into trouble with credit cards
Anyway, our big splurge this year will be AKL for Christmas.

I too am hoping that SoG doesn't reopen until after the 2003 holidays.... I can't stand their *Holiday* Package. We're bringing my DB and family out next Christmas for their first WDW experience, and I'd rather do SoG Contemporary than Xmas Package at SoG.

AmyA-
Thanks for the update on the new projected opening of SoG... they would only commit to "mid-December".

Let's all keep our fingers crossed!!
