If anyone is waiting for Sog overflow they were out today when I called!(10/11) I got Poly Garden View at 265.00 this includes tax. This rate still seems a bit high to me , but rates at the Hotels in general may have gone up. Th CM was quoting rack rates to me but I was not writing them down!!And my mathematical ability does not allow me to do % calculations in my head. Anyway, I will still be on the lookout for AP rates (no conceirge was offered:( )and that is what I really wanted(at a discounted rate of course;) )I might call back for a LG View!(it was about 30.00 more). And now I need to go check out which longhouse I would like to request!! Joan:smooth:

When are you going to WDW? They're offering great rates to active duty military through February of next year (I believe). I got the Poly GV concierge in December for $210 per night, tax included.

The dates I just booked were 2/13-17/03. Were these dates included?? Did you call SOG and say you were active duty?? Thanks for any info! Joan (My hubby has been active duty since Oct. 2001, but that could change at any time. Does this make a difference?)

FYI, I believe that is President's Week and if so the $260 you were quoted would be a really good deal as that is Peak Season. And if it is Peak Season, you may not get any AP rates.

Thanks Zulaya,We are coming in on a Thursday and the following Monday is Presidents Day. I am not sure on which date the season changes? Joan

Joan,
The rates were offered through WDW, not SOG. Here's part of the message off of mousesavers:

"Active-duty US military personnel are eligible for a 50% discount at select Disney resorts. This offer is available most nights 10/3/02-11/25/02, 11/30/02-12/25/02 and 1/1/03-2/12/03."

Maybe you could check in on 2/12/03 and try to get the rate.

Hi!

2/13 is the first day of peak season. Rack rate at the Poly with tax would be $448.44 for that time of year. So you got 40-45% off.....

Thanks so much for posting this! My husband is active duty airforce, and we are going in Jan. I'll let you know what kind of rate we get!

Thank You Chucknrita, I was able to take advantage of the Military rate for my Feb. vacation by going to WDW 1 day earlier!Joan:smooth:
