We're FL residents and military... but I am losing hope for the FL res codes. i might be able to wait it out, but a lot depends on DH's leave. We want to go 4/26-4/29, and want to use the FL res 3 day Play passes.

So my options right now are SoG for 3 nights at $216 OR 3 nights All Star Movies, no discount, for $335.64. Any suggestions or comments? It would help a lot!

We haven't been to either of these resorts. Last time we stayed at CR garden wing when SoG was renovating, and we really loved staying onsite. We have a 2yr old DD, and planned on going to parks for 3 days, and then just relaxing one day before we drove home.

You have to go with the Shades of Green over any of the Value resorts at Disney World. Now if you can get a moderate resort with the Florida Resident discount then you would have a decision to make!! Seems like the Port Orleans is the most popular of the Moderate resorts. Then if you really want to spend a few more bucks, I would go with the discounted rooms at Wilderness Lodge. They are going for $139 a night. That is a deal!! Florida Resident discounts are supposed to come out any time now!!

I just retired (20yrs) from the Air Force in December!! Where is your husband deployed to?? Good Luck

No contest. Shades of Green all the way. Unless it was considerably cheaper (with taxes added), I wouldn't even think of taking a moderate over Shades of Green. And that's based on having stayed at SoG, ASSp, POFQ, CSR, CBR, WL, CR and the Dolphin.

Wow really?! I would have liked to stay at a moderate. But it looks like SoG would be great for us. I also read somewhere that it's a nice walk to the Poly from there.

tcampb6960 - hi! my DH returned from 6 mos deployment in Persian Gulf a few months ago. But he still goes underway for a week or so at a time. Right now he's gone until Tuesday. Congratulations on your retirement!!! Must be GREAT! :teeth:

We are staying at Shades of Green end of April for 2 nights then transfering to The Boardwalk Inn for 3 nights. We have never stayed at an Epcot Resort. My kids are going to love the Boardwalk !! Then we are going to Clearwater Beach for 4 nights. It will be alot of work with kids ages 8,5 & 1.
But I am looking forward to the trip and the challenge.

I have been over to the Persian Gulf many times. I deployed to Riyadh Saudi Arabia every other month for about 6yrs running, during the 90's....it got old quick!! Glad it is over. The Middle East sucks!! Sorry!!

I am sure you will love the Shades of Green.....maybe next trip to Disney split your stay like we are doing. It saves us alot of money splitting with SOG...plus I am there for the discounted tickets when we arrive in Florida!!

Another vote for SOG - the rooms are huge, the pool is nice, and its an easy walk to POLY to get the monorail... save your money for something fun like an extra character meal or a day at the spa!!!!

Go with SOG! We've stayed there many times and have loved it.

Have a great trip!

Yep, really. We like the moderates, particularly CSR, and I would not hesitate to stay there again, but:

314 sq. ft. room at CSR vs. 480 sq. ft. at SoG. That's more than 10X16 feet bigger.

Queen beds instead of doubles

Balcony or patio

Beautiful grounds

Stroll to the Poly, from which you can monorail or boat to MK, GF, CR, WL and FW.

No tax--on the rooms, on tickets, on sundries at the store, etc.
