Sorry for the delay but lots going on here in NC.
The cast : Me my DW and 2 yr old (on may 31) DD.
The Location: Shades of Green Resort.
The Project Budget: $1800.00 give or take a few bucks.

Arrived May 4th and picked up full size Dodge from Dollar. Great car, lots of room could not talk counter person into a free up-grade. Left MCO at 4:00, stopped at Wal-Mart on International, arrive at SOG at 5:20 PM.

I had faxed in room request four day prior to our arrival and got everything I asked for. If you are planning to stay at SOG request that you have a room in the 240 to 255 block. The rooms have a great very and are very close to the Resort entrance and pool.
We had made PS for Chef Mickey's at 6:00 but there was no way we could have made it so we just ate at the Garden Gallery, SOG's main diningroom. It was much better than I remebered it. I will post nightly menu at a later time. We also took advantage of the lower cost food at the Sports Bar and the Gallery's lunch menu just about every day.

After dinner we stopped at guest services and bought 2 4 day park hopper passes for 370.00 for both. We had a couple day left on old park hoppers that we used this trip.

Since we were traveling with a 2 yr old we based everything we did off of her mood. So afternoon naps were a must as were early dinners. DW and I had been to WDW 12 times in the past 10 years, but this time was totally different and so special because our DD was seeing things for the first time.

Woke up next morning and went to AK. DD loved the safari ride and boneyard. But that was all we got through before DD needed a nap. About 4 we got up and went to MK and went on POC, SW, and Pooh. Had dinner at Crystal Palace. Great time for DD who decided that Eeyore is now her best friend in the whole world. The CM playing Eeyore went out of their way to make feel extra special. I have great pics and tape. After dinner rode pooh again and went back to SOG for a dip in the old pool.

Next morning DD was up and saying "shoes on - Bye Bye" before DW and I were ready. Went to MGM and saw Bear and Mermaid show. Ran into friends from high school whom I had not seen since I graduated in, well a long time ago. Disney is weird like that. Its so big and so much to do, but it seems I am always seeing people I know there. Any way by the time we were finished talking about who is doing what it was time to put the young lady down for a nap.

Woke her up about 3, went to the pool and then went to Boma's for dinner. That was a great meal. I would have loved to say and savored the food and surroundings but you gotta move fast with a toddler. And while we are talking about kids and dinner let me just say this, Disney, for me, is for the young and young at heart. Some adults traveling w/o children might want to consider this when making travel plans, or dinner plans. If you don't want to be around children you might want to consider making your PS time later in the evening when most toddlers are tucked away in bed. But don't give me that look and ask the host in a loud voice to be seated away from all the children.

Thats all for now. Look out for the next installment very soon.

Nice report. My DH & I visit Disney a lot, alone, w/out wee ones. We usually do make late dinner reservations as it's then that we would expect children to be in bed. More times than not the children that are w/their parents that late are so dog tired and grumpy that it does make it hard to enjoy our own meals. Congrats to you for being considerate.

Great report! My family will be staying @ SOG this September (our first time). I can't wait to hear more about your trip. I'm glad that you pointed out that Disney is for the young and young @ heart. I agree. Even though our children are a little older, it still makes sense to go @ their pace. Everyone will be a lot happier.:jester:
