We have stayed at SOG once since they started having the evening EMH hours where you had to get a wristband.

At SOG, not everyone gets a card key like the KTTW card from the Disney resorts - they just give room key/cards, so our kids don't have one.

The last time we were there, I remember having to explain that several times at EMH evenings to the CM's that were handing out the wristbands. Now on another thread, I read that they are scanning the cards before they will give you a wristband. How does that work with kids from SOG who have no card key?
Has anyone been there recently that could tell me how this works?
thanks!

Hi there! I'm a cast member who has worked EMH at DAK several times swiping the cards and all. Some CM's may not know what to do if they've only been taught to swipe cards then give bands, but there is a manual way to go through the process (like when people's room keys have become de-magnetized or for SOG and Swan/Dolphin). They'll need to know how many are in your party and then they can select SOG and the number of people in your party. They could also scan one card and then input the rest...just depends on the CM. They can do that for kids who don't have room cards or if someone forgot their card. It shouldn't be a problem, but I know not every wristband station was run as smoothly as ours was in Africa... :) I hope that answers your questions!! Have fun!!

Thank you - that is good to know. We didn't really have any problems last time, just ran into a few CM's who seemed surprised that our kids didn't have cards, too. I don't remember them using any kind of scanners last time we were there (it was right after they started the evening EMH's), so I was just concerned that we might have more trouble this time. Thanks for the reassurance!

SOG gave my kids key cards when we were there in May. Maybe this is something that has changed or maybe if you ask? It is worth a shot to not have to bother at EMH. We didn't go to EMH, so I don't know about the scanning issue.

Even if SOG only gives Key Cards to the adults in the party the cards usually have the number of adults and the number of children printed on the front. The best advice I can give you is to have your entire room together when you get your EMH wristbands so the CM can look at the card, see how many people are listed and match the number to the party standing in front of them. It should not be a problem for you at all.
