My sister's fiance had indicated to her that they might be able to stay at Disney for a discount because of his military background. She knows that I love Disney and asked if I could look into it for her. I've looked all over but haven't been able to find an answer. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help.

My sister's fiance joined the army out of high school and was in it for a few years. He gave me his ending rank (unfortunatly, I forgot to bring it with me to work today). I don't think he has been active for at least 5 years and he is not in the reserves. I don't think he is a vetern because he didn't serve in any type of war. Would he be eligible for any discount in this case?

Also, if my husband and I were to go with them could he book a room for us as well?

There are lots of great rates at other Disney resorts lately, so I don't think it matters much, but it would be nice if we could all stay at the same place.

Thanks!!

He is not eligible unless he was discharged as disabled, which it doesn't sound like he was.

Rule of thumb--if he is leigible to shop in a BX/PX, has current military ID, he is eligible. OTherwise, not. (Unless he works for the DOD, doesn't sound like that is the case either.)

If he WAS eligible, he would be able to get up to three rooms at a time.

Reservists, National Guardsmen and active military are all eligible, as well as DOD employees and Retirees. Retirees are those who have served their full 20 years, either as active or reservists. Just having been in the Army doesn't qualify.
