SOG during Golf Tourney

We may be staying at SOG during the Golf Tounament in Oct. How does the Tounament affect parking, services, transportation to the parks, ETC. Also, can you get in to the Tournament without having to leave the area(i.e. Can you buy tickets at the golf course?)

We may be staying at SOG during the Golf Tounament in Oct. How does the Tounament affect parking, services, transportation to the parks, ETC.

We went once during the Golf Tournament not realizing it was that week. The only problem we encountered was the parking issue. Normally we can park fairly close to the building but that week, we had to park in one of the other lots that was further away. Not a big deal because it wasn't that far away that we couldn't walk to our room but further than usual. We did use the transportation to the parks and didn't notice much difference. This was before they added on to the resort so things might be different now regarding the parking.

We stayed there last year during the tournament and there was a lot more traffic and a lot more hustle & bustle (it's normally a pretty peaceful place) - also extra security. They put up temporary fences all around the golf course areas to funnel people through the security set-ups but as guests at SOG we didn't need tickets, just our hotel cards to get through. Some of the rooms look out on the courses and you can watch from your own balcony! We enjoyed it and didn't mind all the extra people around just for the week. You can still walk to the Polynesian on the walkway, it's just more crowded.
