SOG Check in without sponsor

As it turns out our daughter and SIL, our sponsors, may not be flying in until the evening we arrive - we are driving and will be there by one that day. Will we not be able to check in until they arrive???? Our problem is that we will need to unload our van before picking them up at the airport so we will have room for them and their luggage. Anyone experience checking in before the sponsor arrives? I read somewhere on the posts that is they fax a copy of their ID and are arriving the same day we can check in - any experience in this???

Great question, my dw and I will not be getting to pop until 8-9pm and my aunt will be arriving at noon. To make things worse we need to drop our kid off at Epcop before doing anything (by kids I mean our two dogs). Please let us know if anyone has had this problem before.

I have never been able to check in without an id. They ask for it immediately. Since you won't have one, I think it will be a problem.

We had this issue last year; my mom flew in from one state, my in-laws from another, and my family from a third.

When we called SoG, they had us fax the day before a copy of our flight information (showing when we'd arrive) and a copy of DH's military ID (yeah, I know you're not supposed to photocopy them LOL). My mom was allowed on property with no problems, and was enjoying the facilities when we arrived later that day!

We were there this past summer and had sponsored some rooms of relatives. I believe we were told there was a form my husband could fill out giving the others "permission" to check in without him. I imagine they could call ahead and have that on file with the hotel so that when you get there you can check in.

Its one thing to get opinions about it, but it really helps if someone has experience in it...we are really looking forward to the trip! My daughter, son in law (marine - 1st Lt), and granddaughter are flying in from New Bern, NC (they are stationed at Cherry Pt Marine Air Base), we are driving from Maryland, my son is flying from New Hampshire, so coordinating all this is not easy.

We need to check-out P.O.F.Q.
I can leave my luggage @ P.O.F.Q.
I need to be @ S.O.G when she arrives.
I'm giving as a gift town car transportation to her.
They won't let me pre-pay.
So I need to pay when she arrives.
Is this going to be a problem?

Cherry Point? New River? I'm getting home sick. My Dad was one of the lucky few Marines who spent his last years of service hopping back and forth from Lejeune, Cherry Point, and New River, with one last tour of Okinawa thrown in. So we settled down in a central location, Cape Carteret.

Wow - it's like old home week! I've never met so many people who actually knew where Cherry Point is! I have a lot of fond memories of that place!
My dad was stationed there most of my life. I was born there and graduated High School there (moved away and back a few times in between!).

Boy, I haven't heard that "Havenot" joke for a long time!
