This will be our family's first trip to DW. We will be staying 5 nights. I was able to book the SoG at the gov't employee rate for the first 3 nights at the CI and they gave me a gov't discount rate through Disney for the other 2 at CI. While on the waiting list I made a resv. at the AKL in case....My question is: should I keep the last 2 nights at AKL and switch resorts or just stay at the Contemporary? (which just means a room switch) Also, has anyone heard or seen anything about upgrades as SoG guests? Thanks so much!
except that my extra night is at the begining of my vacation. I made a mistake with the dates when booking through SOG a year in advance. When I realized my error just a few weeks ago, I got put on the SOG waiting list for that first night. I went ahead and booked at the AKL as well (using a code) thinking that if I have to move rooms anyway, I may as well make it worth my while and experience something different. If the waiting list comes through for me, I will stay the entire time at the Contemporary. If it doesn't, I will stay the first night at AKL. Just $20 more for a savannah view than I would have paid at CR for "same old, same old". Hope this helps you in making your decision. Best wishes on your trip. Oh, and I am guessing that the room you would be staying at for the discount rates would be the South wing because the North wing rooms are reserved for SOG where you would be for the first few nights.
. Everything else I have read leads me to believe SOG ressies are the last to be upgraded. I would not ask for one, might just spoil any chances, I don't know. I think deep down we all hope for one but tell yourself you are not going to get one so you aren't dissapointed. As it is, I'm hoping not to get the parking lot view
and will jump for joy for anything else
