Hi, does anyone know if i can put a case of water in a large softsided cooler and send it as a piece of luggage on Delta? I am fully aware that I can purchase bottled water in FL and we will have a car and stop in a store but that is no the issue. My sister and young nephew have problems with the sulfer and amount of salt in the water bottled in FL. We have also been unsuccessful in finding any definate answers about other waters found in FL and know that the water bottled near us is fine for them. Thanks for any help.

Check the delta web site for details. Here is one problem you will run into, MAX 2 checked bags per person and delta now has a weight limit of 50 lbs per piece, after 50 they will charge you.

Coke and Pepsi have bottled water which is nothing more than tap water that has processed. You could contact them for brand info, and details as to what is in the water.

DW has some food allergies, good luck in your quest.

As DVC Guy pointed out, both of them use municipal water from wherever the bottling plant is; the Dasani at WDW was from the Miami municipal supply, the last I checked. (It's usually on the bottle's label, btw.)

Here is a link you can use to determine the source of the more popular bottled waters sold in the US: http://www.bottledwaterweb.com/waterchart.htm

I would suggest they try out one of the brands that uses a consistent source, such as Poland Spring (owned by Perrier, all of it comes from sources located throughout Maine.) Those brands are going to be the same water wherever you buy them; the ones that use a municipal source near the bottling plant will vary much more based on location.

This site, out of Germany, gives the mineral content of nearly every brand of bottled water sold in the world, they are not very good at listing exact sources, however: http://www.mineralwaters.org/

Not Ursula Great info Have you been able to find Poland Springs in Orlando. We end up with Zeppherhills (SP) and DW hates the taste. We have never been able to find Poland Springs anywhere in Fl.

Thanks dvc guy for the Delta info. Part of the problem is Zephyr Hills is the Poland Spring brand in FL and has 3x the salt plus sulfer in it. Poland Spring is the brand we usually drink and if I could find it in FL, I would pay twice the price. We looked at shipping it and it would cost quite a bit so we are hoping to pack less clothes and more water!
Thanks, Not Ursala, I will check ou that site.

According to their website, if you call 1-866-676-1672, they will tell you if it is available it in your area. They probably index distributors by zipcode, so I'd give them the zip of your Orlando hotel.

I usually don't buy bottled water, in Orlando or anywhere else, unless I can get the sort with flouride added to it. We use Brita bottles @ WDW, so that we don't have to carry around heavy bottles of water, or spend park prices buying it.

I think if you were asking about a hard-sided cooler, there would be no question of an airline refusing it. The issue with a softside is what would happen to other peoples' luggage if the bottles were somehow punctured and leaked all over the hold. We always take a rolling hardside cooler on vacation with us, we fill it w/ beach towels and life jackets. TSA inspects it at checkin; tapes it shut, and off it goes.
