I saw a thread about coolers before. However, with my mind I forgot what it said. So please forgive me about asking this again. Can a cooler of that type be taken on a ship? I was thinking about purchasing the mickey one at disneydirect.com. I just want it for bottled water. Would it be counted as a carry on? My BF  and I are looking at the 7 day Costa Maya cruise in Sept 2006. This will be our first Disney Cruise. We watched the planning DVD this week. So be prepared for all of questions  It is nothing like getting the first hand knowledge. I have also purchased The Passporter.

Oh, the room we are looking at is a Cat. 6.

Thank you for any help.

Yes, we brought our wheeled, soft-sided cooler onboard.

They just don't want you to put any ice in it when you are boarding.

Do you check the cooler with the rest of your luggage or do you carry it on with you?

The porter who took our things helped DH get bags out of the car & asked if we wanted him to take the cooler too. We had glass beer bottles in it so we said no but if it had been water bottles & soda cans we could have sent it off with him.

What I have read in the past (here on the DIS bd) is that carry on sodas, water, wine etc is okay but not in you're checked baggage. Suppose a bottle breaks or a can of soda explodes (which has happened to me in my purse..ewk). The liquid could damage other cruisers suitcases and contents.

Going in a week w/ my new soft sided cooler on wheels from Disneydirect!
We'll be carrying it on. I'll let evryone know if they stop us. :flower:
